Chennai City partners with Germany's uhlsport to improve grassroots football

Uhlsport is the official supplier and ball sponsor of France's Ligue 1 and it is also associated with Bundesliga teams 1. FC Köln and Fortuna Düsseldorf.

I-League champion Chennai City FC  on Sunday announced a strategic partnership with German sports good supplier uhlsport to develop grassroots football in Tamil Nadu and across India.

The German company, established in 1948, sells football products under the uhlsport brand and handball products under the Kempa brand, and is the official supplier of the Bundesliga teams 1. FC Köln and Fortuna Düsseldorf.

In France, uhlsport is the official supplier and ball sponsor of Ligue 1, where teams like Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco annd Marseille play, and second division Ligue 2.

"We’re delighted to announce the new cooperation with Chennai City FC to support a sustainable growth of football education in India. With our well-developed relationship with this prospering Indian club, we are keen to enter the Indian market and have them experience our good quality sporting goods," said Dominik Solleder, managing director of uhlsport GmbH.

"Uhlsport also wants to associate with other sporting organisations and tap into the growing sporting market in the country."

We believe that this partnership will work wonders for the development of grassroots football in the state of Tamil Nadu. We will be focusing on using the equipment’s exclusively for all the grassroots festivals and programmes conducted by us."
