Chennai City FC has enjoyed a decent away outing but is yet to taste its first win at the home ground.

But, captain Michael Soosairaj and his boys are confident of pocketing those precious three points for the team when they take on Gokulam FC in the Hero I-League clash, at the Nehru Stadium, here on Saturday. “We want nothing more than a win as it is going to be crucial for our climb on the points table,” said V. Soundararajan, the CCFC head coach.

The team is currenly placed eighth. It could have been better had his boys converted those golden opportunities that came their way. The coach knows that well and, this time around, has planned to change the system of play.

“It’s going to be attack from here,” he asserted. He also said issues in defence have been sorted out.

“Our boys are begining to show some fine understanding in the middle and it will be there for all to see tomorrow. I have told them to go flat out,” he said.

Gokulam FC’s coach Bino George knows that CCFC has the age and experience on its side.

“So, we have chalked out a special plan to upset the opposition. It’s a totally different plan and I don’t wish to reveal it here.

“CCFC is a much beter side but we held them to a draw in our home clash last month. Obviously, we are eager to convert the same into a win tomorrow,” he said.
