Holder Gokulam Kerala returned to spectacular form to overwhelm a 10-man Real Kashmir FC 5-1 in a third round match of Hero I-League at the Kalyani Stadium on Monday.

Luka Majcen and Jourdaine Fletcher shared four goals while Jithin netted once to secure the big win for Gokulam Kerala, which was held goalless by NEROCA FC in the previous round.

Tiago Adan brought up the sole reply for Real Kashmir converting a penalty after the break but it did little to inspire a comeback.

Gokulam Kerala went in the lead in the fourth minute as Real Kashmir’s Prakash Sarkar handled the ball inside own box and was given a straight red card. Majcen scored from the resultant penalty to set GKFC’s win in motion.

In another match of the same round played at Naihati Stadium, local side Mohammedan Sporting recovered from a goal’s deficit to breeze past Sreenidi Deccan FC 3-1 and record its third consecutive win of the tournament.

Marcus Joseph scored a brace while Andelo Rudovic scored from the spot to secure Mohammedan Sporting’s win and take it to the top of the current standings.

David Munoz had put Sreenidi Deccan in the lead early in the first half.
