After back-to-back defeats in the league, Shillong Lajong FC is preparing to bounce back in the match against Aizawl FC.
Aizawl FC is coming to the fixture on the back of a nail-biting win against the new entrant Minerva Punjab FC.
Shillong Lajong FC coach Thangboi Singto stressed on his team's need for points. "We need to play better, as this is to be our third away match and we have not earned ourselves any point as yet," he said.
"We are improving, match by match, and we will try to win maximum points tomorrow."
Singto also admitted that Aizawl FC coach Khalid Jamil is a tough man to oppose on the pitch.
Khalid said, "It's always difficult to play against Thangboi."
He added that he will be making a few changes to the team that started against Minerva Punjab FC.
Incidentally, both goals in favour of Aizawl FC, so far in the league, have been own goals. "We have good strikers. It may take time, but they will score," said Khalid.
Aizawl FC captain Alfred Jaryan insisted, "Football is a team game, and requires a collective effort. We must keep motivating ourselves and try our best to win matches together."
