LIVE UPDATES:

That was all from this game of football in Mumbai. You can head over to our ISL blog where the Indian football action keeps flowing: Kerala Blasters vs Jamshedpur . Thanks and see you soon!

Full time: India 0-3 Sweden - Thomas Dennerby's first game as India U-17 coach ends in a loss. Goals from Matilda Liv Vinberg, Ida Nadine Andersson and Monica Bah seal the win for Sweden, which will face Thailand in its next game. As for India, it will be back on Tuesday against Thailand. For now, Sweden tops the points table with three points in its kitty.

90+1' - GOAL! India 0-3 Sweden : Monica Bah easily finds the net after Ganjhu came off the line to make up for Astam's defensive error. A well deserved goal for Monica, who has been trying hard to get on the score sheet.

90' - Four minutes will be added on in Mumbai. Can India find a goal in the final few minutes?

89' - Despite the chances India has had, it trails by two goals against Sweden. The second half has seen several changes being made, especially by India, but lack of finishing keeps India behind. Sweden, on the other hand, has done well to keep Indian attackers silent.

83' - Sweden's Johanna misses an easy goal as she fails to score from close range after Ganjhu came off the line. That should have been 3-0 for Sweden!

77' - Sumati in the limelight again as she enters the box but falls to the ground. India demands a penalty-kick but the referee is not interested. It is still India 0-2 Sweden in Mumbai.

75' - OVER THE BAR! Sumati comes close again but like earlier times, fails to find the net. Sankhe feeds Sumati with a pass and the latter starts the attack from the left side. Sankhe keeps moving from the center but Sumati decides to go for the shot and sends it over the crossbar! Had she crossed it for Sankhe, who was positioned in front of goal, the situation could have been better.

73' - Change for Sweden: Fiona Erikksson comes on for Rusul Kagaji.

71' - Nirmala Devi is being brought off now to accommodate Purnima Kumari in defence.

70' - CHANCE....AND MISSED! Sumati has the ball as she runs from the left wing. She gets close to the box but instead of taking a shot herself she pulls it back for Sankhe, who fails to slot it home. Chance wasted for the host nation!

67' - Sai Sankhe of Maharashtra is brought on to replace S. Lynda Kom. Lynda had a good game this evening, coming close to finding the net.

63' - Jyoti finds Lynda in the middle with a quick pass and Lynda sends the delivery for Aveka on the right flank. Aveka, though, fails to keep the ball in play and India's build-up ends too soon.

60' - Andersson, who scored the goal for Sweden in the 25th minute, is taken off for Johanna Renmark.

58' - Aveka Singh comes on now, and goes off Priyangka Devi. Dennerby is giving chances to as many girls as possible as he brings on fresh legs too.

56' - Third change for India as Jyoti Kumari replaces Kritina Devi. A like-for-like change in defence.

53' - Amisha Baxla and B. Mariyammal come on for Munda and Kiran as Thomas Dennerby makes a double substitution.

49' - Elma tries to trouble right-back Kritina as the Swedish midfielder tries to penetrate the box. She, however, whips in a cross from the flank which is miscued, and is collected by Ganjhu between the sticks.

46' - Second half begins. Can India bridge the deficit in this half? [At least] 45 minutes of action awaits.

Half time: India 0-2 Sweden - Goals from Matilda Liv Vinberg and Ida Nadine Andersson keeps Sweden in the lead at the break in the opening match of the U-17 Women's Football Tournament. India has struggled defensively but has looked better on the offence, coming close to scoring on a couple of ocassions. Sumati Kumar and S. Lynda Kom have led India's attack this evening at the Mumbai Football Arena. Second half awaits.

45' - Two minutes have been added on.

42' - Sumati tries to attack from the left flank and experiments a quick one-two with Astam in the middle but Sweden's Sara intercepts.

37' - Owing to an injury, Sweden captain Hanna Maria Wijk has to be replaced with Elma Novah.

35' - The players have taken a short cooling break at the Mumbai Football Arena. As things stand, Sweden is in control of the game with two goals in comparison to India's none.

25' - GOAL! India 0-2 Sweden: Against the run of play, Sweden finds the second goal through Ida Nadine Andersson! From the left wing, Andersson makes her way to the box and easily gets past Nirmala Devi. It's a battle of India and Sweden's number 20s with Nirmala and Andersson up against each other -- but Nirmala has no answer to the quick attack as Andersson doubles the visitor's lead with a sublime finish!

25' - India is awarded a free-kick which is taken by Priyangka Devi. Instead of floating it into the net from a distance, she plays it short to Astam Oraon on the left side. Oraon tries to whip in a cross to the other flank, but the delivery bumps into the side netting.

20' - CHANCE! S. Lynda Kom with another long-range attempt! Sunita Munda receives the ball from the right side after India wins the ball from the Swedish defenders. Munda finds Lynda with a timely pass; Lynda keeps possession of the ball -- creates time and space for herself, and releases a left-footed shot. The effort, however, misses the target.

17' - India tries to set up Sumati Kumar on the left side with some help from the backline. Sumati does well to get to the end of the through pass played for her but her squared effort in the box is blocked by Sweden. India, since conceding the goal, has looked better. The attackers are slowly going further up the pitch, testing the visiting side's defence.

11' - CHANCE! S. Lynda Kom with the first real chance for India! She makes the run on the left side towards the box and releases a shot from distance. Her effort is on target but it lacks power as it lands safely into the hands of the Swedish goalkeeper.

9' - Thokchom Martina, Shilky Devi and Nirmala Devi try to build attack from the left side but Nirmala losses possession to Sweden's left back.

4' - GOAL! India 0-1 Sweden: Sweden finds the early lead through Matilda Vinberg, as she scores from a penalty-kick after India was guilty of bringing down Sweden's number 11.

1'- KICK-OFF! India is playing in blue, while Sweden players are donning the yellow jersey.

India XI: Manju Ganjhu, Shilky Devi (C), Thokchom Martina, Kiran, S. Lynda Kom, Sumati Kumari, Astam Oraon, Sunita Munda, Priyangka Devi, Kritina Devi, Nirmala Devi.

Match preview

Thomas Dennerby will make his managerial debut as the Indian U-17 coach today when India takes on Sweden in the U-17 Women's Football Tournament in Mumbai. Dennerby was appointed as the gaffer in November.

Ahead of the opener, he said, "This will be the first match-experience against another country for the team since my arrival. I am hoping to see that the players can produce on the pitch the things that we have been working on in training such as formation, movement etc. We have to make sure that we plan well for the games and that the players are actively looking to do the right things on the field."

Sweden U-17 head coach Pär Lagerström said that he is looking forward to the match, especially given the fact that Dennerby has coached in Sweden. "Of course, Thomas (Dennerby) knows the Sweden way to play extremely well but still I think it's the players that will play. We'll see what happens tomorrow and we're looking forward to the game," he said.

"I have not seen them (India) play before and would like to have a better view of the team. After the tournament, I definitely will. I have talked to Thomas and he said that India has very technical players – fast and different types of players."
