High on confidence after notching up their maiden I-League win in the previous match, debutants Aizawl FC take on Sporting Clube de Goa in their fourth game of the season here tomorrow.

After losing their first two matches against defending champions Mohun Bagan in Kolkata and Bengaluru FC at home, Aizawl defeated fellow newbies DSK Shivajians 2-0 in their last match here.

The home side would look for their second win tomorrow when they play the Goan side, currently placed sixth in the league table, at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

Sporting have so far collected one point from two matches while Aizawl have three points in their kitty as a result of the win on January 22 to be at the fourth spot.

Sporting coach Mateus Costa predicted a tough match tomorrow. “Aizawl will not be an easy team at all and there’s no question of taking them lightly, that too here. We’ve to rectify our flaws, otherwise wasting more points can hurt us in the league,” he said.

He added that the climate and artificial turf in Aizawl could pose some problems to his players but would not be a big issue for them.

Aizawl coach Manuel Retamero Fraile sounded pretty optimistic ahead of tomorrow’s next match. “We must try to move up in the table. I am very happy about the support we have been getting from our fans. We’ll keep no stone unturned to earn three points against Sporting Clube de Goa,” he said.
