Bengaluru FC has signed the former East Bengal midfielder Harmanjot Khabra, the club announced here on Monday. Khabra, who represents Chennaiyin FC in the ISL, joins the I-League champion on a season-long loan. "I must be doing something right to have been picked up by the champions of India. I’m looking forward to playing alongside the likes of (Sunil) Chhetri and Eugene (Lyngdoh)," the 28-year-old said.
Khabra, who took part in his first training session with BFC on Monday, hails from Punjab and is a graduate of the Tata Football Academy. He spent three seasons with Sporting Clubs de Goa and seven with East Bengal, where he was captain.
"Harmanjot comes with a lot of experience that will be very handy as the season progresses," said Albert Roca, the BFC head coach.
