I-League: Aizawl FC edges East Bengal to claim first win

Zikahi Dodoz (25'), Joe Zoherliana (73') and Mapuia (83') scored a goal each as Aizawl took the spoils in a goalfest.

A cross from the right brushed off Dodoz’ head and the loose ball was picked up by Kromah inside the box on the left. He laid it off to Rinfella whose powerful strike rebounded off Ubaid and fell in the path of Dodoz who placed it in the back of the net to put the host in front in the 25th minute.

East Bengal pulled one back in the 63rd minute courtesy Justin, who converted a brilliant Chullova freekick. Seven minutes later, a powerful strike from  Borja Gomez gave East Bengal the lead but Joezoherliana drew parity.

With seven minutes to go, Mapuia sealed the tie as he volleyed a Dodoz cross to find the back of the net.

The result moves Aizawl up to the eighth spot in the points tally and East Bengal stays stranded at the fourth position having bagged six points from two wins in four games.
