Mohun Bagan will play its third match in six days at three different venues.

Mohun Bagan, which has been going through a hectic schedule due to its I-League and AFC Cup engagements, has returned to its home after about two weeks. On Saturday, Bagan takes on DSK Shivajians in the I-League fixture at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium here.

As Mohun Bagan plays its third match in six days at three different venues, the second-placed team (on 18 points) will be concerned about a few issues.

The lack of adequate rest to its players and the injury to its star Haitian forward, Sony Norde, are the biggest worries for the side. The two successive goalless draws must be playing on the mind of Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen as well.

The Mariners, which had played out a goalless draw against DSK at Pune, would desperately want to get back to winning ways on its return to home.

“In our two (away) matches, our target was six points or at least four points. But we got just two. This is a very important match for us. We have to get back to winning ways,” said Sen.

Sen’s optimism was rooted in the fact that Bagan won all its four matches at home.

Bagan needs to score goals to taste victory again.

Norde was fielded against East Bengal and Mumbai FC despite having a knee injury. It remains to be seen whether Sen fields the ace goal-scorer in the important clash.

Of course, Bagan has achieved a win against Churchill Brothers without Norde and has got capable scorers like Daryl Duffy and Jeje Lalpekhlua to shoulder the responsibility upfront.

Of late, DSK, slotted sixth with 10 points, has produced some good results – including a 2-2 draw against the formidable Bengaluru FC and a 2-1 away win over Shillong Lajong before being held 0-0 by Minerva Punjab FC.

The Dave Rogers-coached side, which is scheduled to play two more away matches before heading home, will be keen to maintain the good momentum on the road.
