East Bengal has flown in Mohtab Singh from Kolkata to bolster its defence after two of its players, defender Guwinder Singh and midfielder Mehtab Hossain, who have been served two yellow cards each, became ineligible for its crucial group engagement with Aizawl FC on Thursday.

A head injury to Ugandan defender Ivan Bukenya has compounded the problem for East Bengal.

However, East Benagal assistant coach Ranjan Chowdhury asserted that the team had got enough players to fill the void. "We have a strong squad and have got some equally good players. So we do not have any problems in finding replacements," said Ranjan.
