A month after the United Breweries parted ways with East Bengal, the Kolkata giant has joined hands with Bengaluru-based Quess as its main investor.
As per the agreement, the club will henceforth be known as Quess East Bengal FC Private Limited. Headquartered in Bengaluru, Quess is one of country’s leading business service providers.
“After our association with the UB Group ended, we had a word with various companies. But, I am glad that Quess agreed to be associated with the club,” East Bengal’s senior official, Kalyan Majumdar said.

The company, too, plans to extend this partnership for long. Though it is not confirmed, sources have indicated that with the new partnership, the Kolkata giant may finally consider being a part of the Indian Super League — a tournament both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan have opposed so far. So, it would be interesting to see how things go from here.
After being associated with East Bengal for years, Kingfisher — a brand owned by the United Breweries — ended partnerships with the Kolkata club last month. And, there were speculations on who would replace the liquor giant as the title sponsor. But, with another multi-national group joining hands, East Bengal fans will be hoping for a good season.
