Trevor Morgan has won the Federation Cup and the IFA Shield titles with East Bengal.

East Bengal reappointed Englishman Trevor Morgan as its head coach following the resignation of Biswajit Bhattacharya midway through the season.

Following a meeting of the club here on Wednesday, East Bengal secretary Santosh Bhattacharya said Morgan would join the side later this week but would take over before the Federation Cup next month.

Assistant coaches Debjit Ghosh and Sanjay Majhi will guide the team in its remaining I-League matches against Sporting Clube de Goa at the Barasat Stadium on Friday and Lajong FC at Shillong on April 24.

Bhattacharya had resigned after East Bengal’s 3-1 loss to Bengaluru FC hampered its chances of winning the I-League crown.

Morgan, who had coached the team from 2010 to 2013, had won the Federation Cup and the IFA Shield titles. The team had finished runner-up once in the I-League. East Bengal had also reached the AFC Cup semifinals.

Presently, Morgan has a contract with Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Kerala Blasters FC and is likely to come to East Bengal on loan. His contract may be renewed.
