The Portuguese superstar has decided to leave the home of reigning La Liga and European champion, according to reports from local newspaper.
Portuguese newspaper A Bola has claimed on Friday that Ronaldo has informed the club officials of his firm decision to leave the country over his indictment of tax fraud of worth €14.7 million Euros by the Spanish tax authorities.
A possible sale of the forward would come as a major blow to Madrid, who is its all-time leading goal-scorer with 406 goals in 394 appearances.
He scored two goals in the UEFA Champions League final against Juventus, which helped the club become the first side to retain the trophy in its current format.
In the prospect of a transfer - a reported combined transfer and player fee of €400 million Euros - only Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain appear to be the likely destinations for the four time Ballon’d Or winner.
