Post-match comments!!

Greg Stewart's hat-trick and Peter Hartley's opening goal proved enough as Jamshedpur FC thrashed Odisha FC 4-0 at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Goa.

After the Men of Steel ended the first half with a 4--0 lead, it was predicted it would add more in the second half but surprisingly, the second 45 minutes remained goalless.

Odisha FC tried to come back into the match but Owen Coyle's men held their composure to keep the clean sheet.

This win sees Jamshedpur FC climb to second with 11 points, one behind topper Mumbai City, which takes on Chennaiyin FC tomorrow. Odisha FC slips down to fourth.

Full-time (Odisha FC 0-4 Jamshedpur FC)!!

90+6' Close- Valskis gets his head as the ball is swung in from the corner. His effort isn't too far away from goal.

90+5' Ritwik attempts a cross from the left but it is blocked as the ball goes out for a corner.

90+2' Odisha tries to create an opening but Krasniqi's pass is overhit and it is a JFC throw-in.

Five additional minutes!!

89' JFC Subs- Eli Sabia and Ritwik Das replace Peter Hartley and Komal Thatal.

88' Chance- A great ball floated inside the box from an OFC freekick. The ball finds Jonathas who should have headed it inside the goal but cannot get a good connection. Sums up Odisha's night.

87' It is a good delivery by Javi from the corner. The ball is played straight back to him. Javi attempts a shot but it is blocked.

86' An Odisha cross from the left. It takes a deflection and goes out for a corner.

83' Odisha looks to be completely out of creativity. Right now, it's all about not conceding more.

80' Shot- Valskis' initial shot from the freekick hits the wall. The rebound falls to Stewart. He takes a shot from long-distance but it is miles off-target.

79' Jordan Murray is brought down by Vinit Rai. He is lucky to escape a yellow there.

Match resumes!!

Drinks break!!

74' Lalruatthara brings down Boris on the right. It is a foul. However, his subsequent reaction kicking straight at Boris' hand has invited protest from JFC players.

73' OFC Sub- Nikhil Raj comes in for Paul Ramfangzauva.

73' Shot- Another chance for JFC to counter. Murray moves forward with the ball. He had many passing options on either side but decides to go for the shot. His shot is blocked.

65' JFC Subs- Jordan Murray and Boris Singh replace Jitendra Singh and Len Doungel.

64' OFC Sub- Liridon Krasniqi replaces Aridai.

64' A good delivery by Hernandez from an OFC freekick to Rehenesh's back-post. However, the away team does well to clear any impending danger.

63' The tempo of the match has taken a visible dip. Just needs a spark to up the tempo again.

60' Booking- JFC's Doungel shown yellow for his ill-timed challenge on Bora.

60' JFC has slightly retreated into is own half. It is not keeping a high-line like the first half, which is allowing Odisha time and space to play out from defence.

57' A long diagonal by Isak, which is chased by Jonathas. The weight of the pass is too much and the ball goes out for a JFC goalkick.

54' A nice delivery into the box, which is initially cleared by OFC. The loose ball is there for the taking and Thatal takes a shot, which is blocked. The rebound is then skied by JFC. The chance goes begging.

53' Booking- Peter Hartley sees yellow. It is his third of the season.

52' Thatal is brought down by Bora right outside the box. It is a very good freekick position for JFC.

49' Shot- Aridai shoots at goal while being surrounded by three JFC players. His shot is blocked as JFC regains possession.

46' OFC Subs- Javier Hernandez, Gaurav Bora and Lalhrezuala Sailung replace Jerry Mawihmingthanga, Hector Rodas and Hendry Antonay.

We are back for the second-half!!

HT: OFC 0-4 JFC

An absolute hammering here for Odisha! Stewart and Co. have waltzed through a near invisible Odisha defence with a sensational flurry of attack. Owen Coyle will be delighted with this dazzling first-half performance. Will they pile on the misery even further in the second-half?

45' Yellow Card for Hendry. Just at the stroke of half-time Hendry gets a booking and the referee also signs for two added minutes.

39' Is that a penalty there? Another dangerous from Stewart has him move into the box swiftly. He aims to cut past Lalruatthara who puts a leg out as Stewart goes down. Seems like Stewart's caught off-balance even before coming in contact with the defender.

35' GOOAAAAL!! HAT-TRICK FOR STEWART! Odisha is put to complete disarray here. A seamless run through the right flank and Stewart zips the past defence to slot the ball to the right of Kamaljit and records a sensational first-half hat-trick!

33' Possession Stat: Odisha FC: 56% Jamshedpur FC- 44% (Despite enjoying more possession, the Kalinga Warriors not doing enough with it).

Match resumes!!

Drinks break!!

20' Shot- Stewart sets up Jitendra for a shot and he obliges from long-distance. He connects well but the shot is blocked.

18' A game has a wonderful tempo to it as both teams are playing expansive attacking football. Odisha FC players gradually finding their foot in the game.

16' Aridai slips a deft pass to Jonathas but it has too much weight and misses the latter by a whisker.

14' Stewart whips the ball in with a low-driven shot. It goes out of play off a OFC player. Corner to JFC.

MATCH PREVIEW: Odisha looks to build on promising start to season against Jamshedpur

Odisha FC  will aim to build on its promising start to the Indian Super League ( ISL)  season when it takes on  Jamshedpur FC  at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco on Tuesday.

Odisha hasn’t been at its convincing best, despite three wins in four matches, that have taken it to second in the table. Fourth-placed Jamshedpur, which was punished in the last outing for its mistakes by a ruthless Mumbai City FC, will be keen to bounce back to establish itself as a serious playoff contender.

While Odisha has scored 11 goals so far, it has let in seven in return, including four against a hapless SC East Bengal. NorthEast United, too, had its chances against Odisha but squandered them before the Juggernauts nicked it late in a 1-0 win.

Having conceded 50 shots in four matches – highest average in the league – head coach Kiko Ramirez will need to work out a way to limit chances against his team. Higher up the pitch, attacking midfielder Javi Hernandez will hold key to unlocking Jamshedpur’s defence.

Odisha forward Aridai Cabrera was forced off the field with an injury but Ramirez expects to have the Spaniard remain in contention.

Ramirez paid tribute to opposite number Owen Coyle’s work with Jamshedpur since his appointment in 2020. “They are probably one of the best [teams] this season and they have a clear idea of what they are doing on the pitch,” said the Spanish coach.

Jamshedpur head coach Coyle has fitness concerns heading into the clash with the attacking trio of Nerijus Valskis, Jordan Murray and Seiminlen Doungel, and centre-back Peter Hartley all nursing knocks. Despite the troubles, the team will likely continue to play with a high-intensity approach.

“Jamshedpur only knows how to play in one way and that's to win matches. We’re very respectful of who we play against and we recognise qualities of the opposition, but we don't change our game plan according to the team we’re facing, with all due respect,” said Coyle.
