ATK is continuing to make headway in the off-season transfer window with the signing of FC Goa's midfielder Manuel Lanzarote on Wednesday. The announcement comes two days after snapping up centre-back John Johnson from Bengaluru FC.

The two-time Indian Super League champion, which finished ninth in the 2017-18 season has also reinforced its squad with the likes of Balwant Singh (Mumbai City FC), Pranoy Haldar (FC Goa), Shaikh Faiaz (Mohun Bagan), Arnab Mondal and Cavin Lobo (East Bengal FC). Nigerian striker Kalu Uche became the first arrival as early as March.

Lanzarote, who finished the season with 13 goals in his maiden stint in India, expressed his displeasure in continuing under the stewardship of the Gaurs coach Sergio Lobera.

“I have enjoyed playing in India and cannot wait to begin afresh with the double champions,ATK. I hope to be able to continue with my form from the past season and help ATK win another championship," said Lanzarote.

Englishman Johnson spent five seasons at Bengaluru before he made the switch to ATK. “Really excited to join ATK. Such a massive club in India, certainly looking forward to creating memorable times and winning some trophies,” he said.
