Bengaluru FC has signed Spanish forward Braulio Nobrega Rodriguez, the club announced on Monday. The 31-year-old, who has signed a one-year deal, has turned out for a number of clubs in Spain's top two divisions over his career.
He becomes the fourth Spaniard at the club, joining Juanan Gonzalez, Dimas Delgado and Antonio Dovale. Rodriguez arrives from Doxa Katokopias FC in the Cypriot First Division, where he scored 10 goals in 15 league games in the 2016-17 season.
“Braulio is an experienced player who fits into our style of play,” said BFC head coach Albert Roca. “He’ll provide the muscle up front and hopefully with the support that we have, he can contribute at the business end of the pitch.”
Rodriguez began at Atletico Madrid in 2004, where he played for the reserve team. He then joined La Liga side Mallorca on loan. His career includes spells at Getafe, for whom he turned out in the UEFA Cup as well, Real Zaragoza, Recreativo Huelva, and Malaysian side Johor Darul Ta'zim.
“I’ve heard all I needed to about the club from the Spanish boys in the side and I’m thrilled to be part of it,” said Rodriguez. “I even heard a lot about the club when I was with Johor Darul Ta’zim. I’ve already put in a couple of sessions with the team and I feel very comfortable.”
