Bengaluru FC announced the signing of Venezuelan international striker Nicolas ‘Miku’ Ladislao Fedor Flores ahead of its maiden Indian Super League season.
The 32-year-old former Valencia and Getafe player has signed a two-year deal after agreeing to join from Spanish side Rayo Vallecano with whom he spent the last two-and-a-half seasons. The attacker is BFC's seventh foreign signing.
“Miku is an exciting player and his playing style will help us a lot," said coach Albert Roca. "He has played for several top clubs for a number of years and the experience he brings will be very crucial for this season."
Miku played the most for Getafe, winning 108 caps in a four-year spell. At Rayo Vallecano, he has 46 matches under his belt. Miku also had a short loan spell with Scottish powerhouse Celtic FC in 2012-13 during which the club won the Scottish League and Cup double.
During the 2015-16 La Liga season at Vallecano, Miku won the La Liga’s Player of the Month award for February. That season Miku had nine goals and four assists in 22 appearances but couldn't help his side avoid relegation.
The Venzuelan also has the experience of having played in the UEFA Champions League (two matches for Celtic) and UEFA Europa League for Getafe and Valencia. He even scored a hat-trick for the latter in a Europa league qualifier.
Miku has 51 caps for Venezuela and has scored 11 times, most notably against Brazil in the 2015 Copa America. He was also part of the national side which finished fourth in the 2011 Copa America.
