Defending Champions Chennaiyin FC announced the signing of Dutch midfielder Hans Mulder for the upcoming 2016 edition of the Indian Super League. Mulder, who played for Delhi Dynamos in the first two seasons, will join the Chennai side after spending time with third-tier Spanish team, Cacereno, earlier this year.

“I enjoyed my two years in India while playing for Delhi. When Marco Materazzi showed interest in me, I instantly made up my mind of joining Chennaiyin. I am looking forward to playing for such a consistent team and hope to win my first ISL title with them,” Mulder stated.

Chennaiyin manager, Marco Materazzi, said that he had been impressed by the Dutch central midfielder from the first campaign.

“Mulder had two very consistent seasons in the ISL. We were keen to add his quality and experience in our midfield this year. So we are very happy to have signed him and believe in him to have another strong campaign,” said Materazzi.

Mulder was involved with Real Zaragoza's youth side before joining Netherlands outfit RKC Waalwijk. He went on to play for RKC Waalwijk’s senior side in both the first and second tier of Holland. Later on, Mulder played for Willem II and NEC in the Dutch Eredivisie before joining the Delhi Dynamos in the inaugural season through the international draft in 2014.
