Hello and welcome to Sportstar 's LIVE blog of Saturday's ISL 2019-20 match between FC Goa and NorthEast United FC in Goa.

Thanks for tuning in today. See you!

Goa will next play ATK in Kolkata on 18th in a top-of-the-table clash. Meanwhile, NorthEast United will take on Chennaiyin FC in Chennai two days earlier.

Goa is now the sole ISL 2019-20 leader with 24 points. However, ATK FC has 21 points and a game in hand. NorthEast, on the other hand, stays eighth in the ISL standings with 11 points from 10 games.

Pawan Kumar and his NorthEast United FC defence held on for 67 full minutes but a silly error from the visiting shot stopper gifted the home team FC Goa the opener. Corominas buried home a penalty in the 82nd minute to seal the match for his side after Jose Leudo was sent off.

THE GAME IS DONE AND DUSTED!!!

90+4' The corner is taken and it's cleared away pretty easily by the Goan defence. AND IT'S FINALLY FULL-TIME!!

90+3' CORNER FOR NORTHEAST!!! One last chance to find a goal for the visitor. But Goa is wasting a lot of time here.

90' Four minutes to be added on! Lenny Rodrigues is adjudged the hero of the match. He's covered the most distance tonight.

88' CHANCE!!! Goa could have easily made it 3-0 here. Boumous with a decent pass to Doungel whose shot is easily cleared away by the NorthEast defence.

85' ANOTHER GOA CHANGE!! Seminlen Doungel replaces Lenny rodrigues in the middle as Lobera wants his side to eat up more time.

82' CORO SCORES!!! 2-0 GOA! Ferran Corominas scores Goa's 100th goal at the Fatorda Stadium (most by a team at a single stadium in ISL history). He went to his left and the goal keeper dived to the right side but the power on the shot was too much for Pawan.

81' YELLOW CARD FOR GALLEGO ON THE SIDELINES!! He was apparently arguing with the fourth official and now goes into the referee's book for his act from the bench.

79' RED CARD FOR LEUDO!!! His second one this season. PENALTY FOR GOA!!! Silly, silly tackle from Leudo. He was last man backing up and he couldn't keep up with the pace of Coro. So the NorthEast defender brought him down from behind and Coro brilliantly waited for the right time to go down and earned a penalty with a fall inside the box.

78' SUBSTITUTION! First one of the night for FC Goa. Manvir Singh comes in for Jackichand Singh.

77' POOR CROSS!! Martin Chaves made a brilliant run forward on the right wing but his final cross was very long. YELLOW CARD! Mandar Rao is booked for an earlier foul on NorthEast's Redeem Tlang.

74' Seriton has made three successful blocks, seven successful tackles and one succesful interception so far. He's been Goa's best player tonight. This particular back four for Goa will register a third clean sheet together if their side maintains the 1-0 lead till the very end.

71' SHOT!!! Rupert Nongrum, in desperation to equalise for his side, hits a shot from long and it doesn't trouble Nawaz at all.

68' GOALLLL!!!!! 1-0 GOA!! AND IT'S AN OWN GOAL!!! Miserable goal keeping by Pawan Kumar. He should have saved that. Boumous found Jacki on the right. Jacki's cross was deflected off Komorski who went in for a sliding tackle and headed straight to Pawan. But the NorthEast keeper let the ball in with a silly dive on top of the ball. He should have had his hands behind the ball instead. A GIFT FOR GOA!

67' SUBSTITION!!! SECOND ONE FOR NORTHEAST! Gallego makes way for Milan Singh. That's a surprising change though.

64' CORNER FOR NORTHEAST! Nikhil Kadam is immediately in the act. The corner is taken and Gallego goes in for the header. His shot just misses the far post.

61' SUBSTITUTION!! Nikhil Kadam replaces Lalthathanga Khawlhring for NorthEast United. First change of the match and Robert Jarni is urging his side to move forward from the sidelines.

59' FREE-KICK FOR GOA!!! Jose Leudo had brought down Coro here. Though it was a push, Coro went down very easily there. Brandon Fernandes to take it. And it's one more shot straight to Pawan.

58' Most of the crosses from the Goa wingers are hit close to the goal keeper. This time it's Lenny. He received the pass from Jacki and let one fly straight to Pawan.

56' GOAL-KICK FOR NORTHEAST!! Mourtada Fall had come forward during a free-kick. Brandon put in a long ball from midfield and Fall received it well with his chest. But his cross attempt was miserable.

53' FC Goa has dominated the second half so far. The side is attacking in numbers. NorthEast is happy to sit back and defend. Even Gallego is helping his defence.

50' ONE MORE CORNER FOR GOA! Brandon Fernandes will take and it's cleared away by Komorski.

48' WHAT A CHANCE!!! Lenny Rodrigues with a brilliant pass to Jackichand Singh who only had the goalkeeper to beat from seven yards out. But he hit it straight at Pawan. The rebound fell to skipper Mandar whose shot was brilliantly blocked by Reagan Singh on the goal line.

47' CORNER FOR GOA! And it's hit straight to Pawan. Carlos Pena was very close to the NorthEast keeper there.

THE SECOND HALF STARTS!

FC Goa head coach will be happy with his side's performance in the first-half. However, he'll be devastated by its finishing tonight. The home side should have scored at least once so far. It has had 62% possession in the first 45 minutes, better pass percentage and has made more dangerous attacks. But NorthEast United FC has clearly frustrated Goa in this game and its manager Robert Jarni will be a happy man now. Let's wait and watch what happens in the next 45 minutes. Stay Tuned!

AND THE FIRST-HALF ENDS!

45+2' SAVE!! Goa's Lenny with a ball from midfield to Coro but Pawan comes forward and puts his body on the line to complete the save.

45' CLOSE! Boumous dribbles past a NorthEast full back and hits a cross into the box. But Pawan reacts in time to collect the ball. Two minutes to be added on!

43' CHANCE!!! Brandon with a pass to Mandar Rao Dessai on the left flank. The Goa skipper runs forward and puts in a low cross into the box to Boumous. But Komorski and Pawan Kumar play pin ball to make the final clearance.

41' CORNER FOR GOA!!! Brilliant clearance by Komorski here. Goa looked set to open the scoring but the NorthEast defender has the last laugh. Short corner taken by home side and Jahouh runs into the box with the balll only to lose it away easily.

40' NorthEast's Jose Leudo has had a wonderful game so far. He has kept the likes of Coro, Jacki, Brandon and Boumous at bay with his brilliance.

38' YELLOW CARD FOR DIVING!!! Brandon Fernandes gets booked for simulation. He will miss FC Goa's next game against ATK for yellow card accumulation.

35' CHANCE WASTED BY TLANG! Reagan Singh should be absolutely furious with his teammate now because he made a 40m dash there. He executed a one-two with Gallego who passed it to Redeem Tlang. Tlang's attempt of curling pass back to Reagan was a mess.

33' FC Goa has dominated possession so far as expected. But NorthEast United did create a number of chances.

31' YELLOW CARD!!! First card of the day goes to a NorthEast United player. Reagan Singh is the player under fault as he brings down Coro in midfield. Jahouh takes the resultant set-piece. His shot almost reaches an onrushing Pena. Goalkick for NorthEast!

28' ALMOST THERE! Brandon won the ball on the left flank and put in a through ball to Boumous. If the Goa forward had controlled it well it was a sureshot goal for the form he's in. However it goes straight to the keeper after a deflection from Boumous.

26' CHANCE!! Rupert Nongrum with a good move forward. But Goa defender Carlos Pena does well to win a goal kick for his team.

24' CORNER FOR GOA!!! Brandon Fernandes will take it. He hits it straight to Coro whose shot is blocked by the NorthEast defence with ease.

22' OFFSIDE!! Goa keeper Nawaz came a long way off his line a few moments ago. He might have conceded as NorthEast was attacking. But Chaves' pass to Nongrum has resulted in an offside.

19' CHANCE!! Coro with a bicycle kick for Goa! Brandon took the ball forward and passed it to Jackichand who put in a cross to Coro from the right flank. The forward came up with an ambitious bicycle attempt only to hit it away for a goal kick.

17' SHOT!! NorthEast players are taking random shots from long here. It was Martin Chaves this time. But Goa keeper Nawaz makes a routine save to keep the score 0-0.

15' NorthEast's Lalengmawia dispossesses Boumous in midfield and passes the ball to Gallego who gives away the ball to Goa again.

12' WHAT A CHANCE FOR GOA!!! Jackichand makes a mess of it. Boumous sent him up well with a through ball into the box. However, Jacki, instead of chipping the ball over the keeper with his left, tried to driblble him with his right to give the NorthEast defence enough time to recover and clear the danger.

11' SHOT!! NorthEast's skipper for tonight, Gallego tried to go in for a long ranger. But it goes way off target.

10' CHANCE!!! Jackichand Singh with a brilliant run on the right flank. His final pass to Corominas is into the box. But the Goa striker's shot is off target. He should have done better there.

8' FREE-KICK FOR GOA!!! Ahmed Jahouh will take it. The ball falls straight to Komorski and he clears it away. Boumous tried to regain the ball but NorthEast averts the danger.

5' CORNER! NorthEast wins the first corner of the day. Fall blocks Tlang's shot away. However, it's a poor set-piece taken by the visitor.

3' Goa with the first proper attack of the game. Boumous to Coro to Boumous again. But the NorthEast defence clears it away much to the relief of their coach Jarni.

MATCH PREVIEW:

FC Goa will look to return to winning ways after losing its last match when it hosts NorthEast United FC in an Indian Super League (ISL) clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Wednesday.

FC Goa’s four-match winning streak was ended by defending champion Bengaluru FC last week but a win against NorthEast on Wednesday will send it to the top of the points table.

NorthEast United, on the other hand, is desperate for a victory as it last won a match more than two months ago.

FC Goa has not lost a game when scoring first and the onus will be on Kai Heerings and Mislav Komorski to contain Ferran Corominas, who has already netted seven times in eight matches.

“NorthEast is a very good team. If we do not play 100 percent, I’m sure it is not going to be easy,” said FC Goa coach Sergio Lobera.

The Gaurs have been prolific with set-pieces as well and already netted 10 goals from dead-ball situations.

Robert Jarni’s Guwahati-based side is eighth on the table and scoring goals has been a major issue. It has scored only nine goals, the lowest in the league.

Although it has the talismanic Asamoah Gyan, who remains its top-scorer with four goals, others have not really contributed.

The return of Uruguayan striker Federico Gallego will be a major boost to its attack, and should he combine well with Gyan, it can resolve its woes upfront.

NorthEast is yet to win an away match against FC Goa but Jarni hopes that his men can do the job and pick up a much-needed win.

“We have nine matches to go. We will go there to win. They are a good team but we are confident as we are (as good as FC Goa). The mood in the team is really great and we are ready for the match,” said Jarni.

The match will be streamed live on Hotstar and Star Sports network from 7.30 pm.
