REPORT |

Manolo Marquez Roca, "If you look first half, we lost two points. In second half, we won one point. Stuart analysed the game well. In first half, we played well and could have finished the game off. In second half, team was very tired. Subs didn't help. In second half, we were lucky team because they fail very clear chances. [On Hali's injury] It's possible when you get an injury. It affects the other players. Its not an excuse. Hali scored once and he had other chances and played a very good game let's see now how the injury is. Maybe it could affect my team. [INjury update] We will recover Joel and Joao for Sunday's match. Fran maybe comes too. Two-three players more. One-two weeks ago, I was telling my staff that I think lot of teams are very tired and we are one of them."

Stuart Baxter, "Very brave performance. We opened the game quote well pressing high, Taylor pulled up very late, Very new back four so tried to press high. They rumbled that they started playing through their wide midfield players. We wasted the first ball in transition. I was happy with 1-0 at the halftime and we didn't do well with the flick on header for the goal. It was a gutsy performance but unlucky not to have the chances creeping in. We changed the pressing shape little bit I didnt want to drop off because we had enough joy to continue. We squeezed the lines together. We had few more transitions and first pass on transition was better. Players smelt we had a chance. I don't know. We have said a few times where we give opposition a head start but that takes off pressure in a way. But I want us to keep the bar high like we did in second half. If we keep playing like that where we have decent understanding and get a result we can kick on. Its certainly not a lot of training where we need to mix and match. Impressed by how young players have not folded. Some of the decisions which wet against us it would have been easy to fold. The staff have done well with their job too."

Hyderabad would see this as a missed two extra points in its bid to strengthen its position in the top four. ISL 2020: Points Table

FULL-TIME! What an entertaining draw. A game of two halves.  Hyderabad would feel it should have taken advantage of its dominance by putting away the chances that came its way. Odisha responded well in the second half through Cole Alexander's srike. Narzary's shoulder injury seemed to take some sting out of HFC's attack and Odisha came back roaring to have the best chances of the half. If it weren't for Akash Mishra's positioning on the goalline on multiple occasions, Odisha would have grabbed all three points.

90'+4' Foul on Liston by Cole. He gets a yellow card for it. One last chance for Hyderabad. Sastre's freekick is just headed wide by Santana. That's that.

90'+2' Cole finds the run of Tratt on the left and with five-six Odisha players to pick out inside the box he ends up playing it behind for a goalkick.

90' HFC SUB: Hitesh OFF, Tavora ON

89' How have Odisha not scored? And how is Akash Mishra doing this over and over again?! Nandha cuts in from the left and fires a shot at goal which beats the 'keeper but Mishra is on the line once again to block it.

87' CHANCE! Mauricio gets the better of Asish on the break and cuts it back into the box for Jerry, whose first-time shot is blocked in front of goal by Akash!

86' Corner for Hyderabad and Santana fires Alberg's corner just wide of the near post goal!

85' Tratt with a crucial block in front of goal as the ball fell onto the path of ALberg to have a shot at goal.

84' Some sloppy passes from both sides as they push for the winner.

82' Yellow card for Vinit Rai as he squares up against Halder after fouling him.

80' Foul by Cole against Asish to stop his run down the right flank.

80' OFC SUB: Onwu OFF Nandha ON

79' Hyderabad starts well and it comes piling on. Liston cuts in from the right and lays it off for Hitesh, whose side-footed effort goes just over the bar.

78' Crucial header by Dhot to take the ball away from Liston's path and out for a corner.

77' Play resumes.

75' Water break taken.

73' GOALLINE SCRAMBLE!!! Tratt made a wild swing from the back to find Mauricio on the left. The forwards had the beating of Asish on the right, ran to the byline and looked to place the ball into the far post but Akash, who was on the line, headed it on to the bar and out!

70' Liston on the ball from the right and he makes his way into the box but his pass to his right-back is overhit and goes away for a goalkick.

68' Backt-to-back corners for Odisha on either side. Odisha on the ascendancy at the moment. But no threat for Kattimani in goal.

65' HFC SUB: Yasir OFF Halder ON

64' A superb diagonal ball to find Rakesh on the left and the left-back swings in a cross to the far post where Jerry comes in unmarked but can't get his shot on target.

63' Superb from Hitesh as he runs forward and threads in a ball behind Odisha defence for Yasir's run but Arshdeep comes out to get to the ball first.

62' Good passing move from Odisha up front. Cole finds Daniel on the left and he cuts in and fires a shot over the bar..

59' Liston on the left now. He receives the ball and dribbles past Dhot like he is not there but his cross is cut out by Bora. HFC players appeal for a handball and the ball does strike his arm but the ref awards a goalkick.

56' HFC SUB: Narzary OFF, Alberg ON

55' Narzary is down on the floor now holding his left shoulder.

52' Yellow card for Dhot for a foul on Narzary. Narzary has injured his shoulder.

Game on.

51' GOAL! Odisha equalises! Cole Alexander drills a shot into the bottom corner from outside the box! From a throw in, Mauricio takes it on his chest and lets it run along into the path of Alexander, who uses the HFC defender as a shield to fire a shot into the bottom corner. Kattimani had no chance.

48' Poor pass at the back by Odisha and Liston pounces on it. Liston and Narzary look to play to one another as they have their paths blocked. Liston finally takes a shot but Bora gets in the block.

46' Odisha gets the second period underway. Corner for Odisha and Kattimani comes out to punch the ball away.

SECOND HALF

Half-time. Hyderabad FC is deservedly ahead and would feel it should be up by more than a goal for all the chances it has created. Liston and Asish have been in sublime form as they have cut open Odisha's left side repeatedly in the half. Left-back Rakesh Pradhan is having a forgettable debut at the moment.

Liston with a diagonal to find Narzary free on the left and he takes a touch and fires it on goal but Arshdeep makes a crucial save.

40' Liston receives the ball inside the box from the left and opens his body up to curl it into the top right corner but can't get the execution right.

38' OFF THE BAR! Hyderabad players are slicing Odisha open time-and-again from the right. Santana squares it into the area for Narzary, who moves the ball on tho his right and fires it up against the post and off!

35' Sastre with a shot from distance which goes horribly wide after HFC work the ball from the right into the centre.

33' Play resumes. Well-worked passing move from Odisha ends with Onwu taking a left-footed shot from distance, which is off target.

31' Water break called.

30' Halicharan clatters into his own teammate and is receiving medical treatment.

30' Liston plays in Asish down the right and the right-back checks his run to force Pradhan to lose his footing. He had too much time to pick out a cross but in the end had his pass cut out.

28' Training ground routine but an unsual one. Yasir's corner finds Mishra on the edge of the box and the left-back chooses to head it low into the ground but has his attemto blocked.

24' SAVE! Mauricio dinks the ball into the HFC box where Daniel in unmarked. The Odisha forward takes one touch and fires a shot at goal but Kattimani dives low to make the save.

23' SAVE! Asish is in sensational form tonight. He flicks the ball over Pradhan's head and manages to swing in a cross into the box. Santana fires a fierce shot on the volley and Arshdeep makes a superb save diving low to his left.

18' Akash loses the ball on the left flank to Jerry and ends up clattering into the winger. The referee awards a freekick in favour of Odisha.

MATCH PREVIEW

Hyderabad FC will aim to do the double over Odisha FC when the two sides lock horns in the Indian Super League (ISL 2020-21) clash at the Fatorda Stadium on Tuesday.

Hyderabad kicked off its campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Odisha back in November and with two wins and a draw in its last three matches, Manuel Marquez will hope his team can keep the momentum going.

After three straight losses heading into the new year, Hyderabad bounced back in style by securing convincing wins over Chennaiyin FC and NorthEast United FC, and followed it up by holding table-topper Mumbai City FC to a goalless draw.

“We have a very difficult game against Odisha FC. In the first leg, it was very different. They did not have players like Jacob Tratt, Cole Alexander, Vinit Rai or Jerry Mawihmingthanga. Odisha, in their last few games, have been playing better. I know that they are the last team in the table but the people following this league know that we can win or lose any game,” Hyderabad head coach Marquez said ahead of the game.

Odisha, meanwhile, suffered its seventh defeat of the season in its last match against Chennaiyin FC. Defensive lapses saw the side concede twice in six minutes in the first half. The Kalinga Warriors have managed only one clean sheet so far.

“They are a very good team. They are one of the best teams [this season]. I like the way that they play. They can play both on transitions and with a striker like Aridane Santana in their ranks, they can go long if they want. They are one of the most complete teams and the coach has done a very good job. In the first match, we gave them a good game. I'm hoping that we can show them that we have improved and we can deal with them a lot better,” said Odisha Baxter.

Odisha, in fact, did the double over Hyderabad FC last season. With the tables turned this time around, Marquez's men can further cement their position in the top-four with a win while a similar result would lift Odisha from the bottom of the table.
