Indian Super League side Jamshedpur FC has signed Chennai City FC captain Michael Soosairaj on a two-year contract for the next ISL league season for a fee expected to be around Rs. 25 lakh, which is two lakhs more than what Delhi Dynamos gave Chennai City for Nandhakumar.
Soosai's transfer is estimated to be one of the most expensive transfer fees for an Indian footballer. His buy-out clause is estimated to be close to Rs. 90 lakh.
While Chennai City FC endured a poor season and finished seventh in the I-League, Soosai drew eyeballs with his pacy and skillful game. He was particularly influential in CCFC's 2-1 win over Minerva Punjab last week, where he scored a goal and crafted an assist.

Commenting on the move, he said, "I am extremely grateful to my team and Rohit sir for supporting me through this journey. This club has given me the recognition and support I needed. Feels good to be identified by ISL teams and especially Jamshedpur FC. I hope to learn a lot and move forward in my career."
Rohit Ramesh, president of Chennai City FC said, "I am very happy for Soosairaj. I wish him the very best on joining Jamshedpur FC. Hopefully he will learn more under Ahmed Ishfaq and Steve Coppell."
