Madrid legend disappointed

"Neymar, in the past four months, has been spectacular. On current form he is the best player," said Delhi Dynamos coach Roberto Carlos.

“Real Madrid 2, Barcelona 1,” was Brazilian legend and Delhi Dynamos coach Roberto Carlos’ prediction before the El Clasico. But the way Real was shredded to bits made Carlos quip, “Did Real Madrid even play? I didn’t see them.”

But the love for Real in him seemed to stop him from whole-heartedly endorsing Barcelona. “Right now they are in great form,” he said. “But that doesn’t necessarily mean they are the best in the world.”“The result has affected me as well,” he went on. Psychological scars? Not at all. “Apart from being a former player, I have also placed some bets and now have to pay up!” he said.

Carlos somehow still found a way to look at the positives. “Neymar, in the past four months, has been spectacular. On current form he is the best player.” Was he then hinting that his fellow Brazilian was a contender for the Ballon d’Or? Not so soon. “You can never take away the class from [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo,” he concluded. “They are still a class above.”
