Manipur, Tripura schools register highest margin wins at Subroto Cup International Football Tournament

L. Bikramjit, Jetli Kalai, and Isak Lalmaisawma scored hat-tricks on the second day of the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament.

The Heirok Higher Secondary School (HHSS), Imphal, and the Sudhanwa Debbarma Memorial High School (SDMHS), Jampuijala, recorded 7-0 wins in the Boys U-14 group stage matches at the 61st Subroto Cup International Football Tournament.

A total of 11 games were played across four grounds in the national capital on Wednesday. Three players scored hat tricks.

HHS, Imphal, overwhelmed Ramakrishna Mission Vivekanand Vidya Peeth, Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, at the Tejas Football Ground, with L. Bikramjit scoring a hat-trick and L. Boyomayo a brace. The remaining two goals were scored by K. Dingkal and J. Likson.

SDMHS, Jampuijala, rode on a Jetli Kalai hat-trick to beat the Air Force Schools at the Ambedkar Stadium. Bijoy, Rohit, Asutosh and Philman scored the remaining four goals for the Tripura school.

In another identical performance, Mizoram's Government Chawngfianga Middle School routed the Army Public School of Delhi Cantonment 5-0 at the Ambedkar stadium. Isak Lalmaisawma scored a hat-trick for the side.

Other winners of the day included the Major Dhyan Chand Sports College, Lucknow (2-1 over KVS, Imphal), Gurukul, Kurukshetra ( 3-0 over B.K.Birla Centre of Education), and Pathways School, Noida (3-0 over St. Francis Xavier School, Daman and Diu).
