46' Juventus, with a lot of work in hand, sets the ball rolling again.

Half-time substitution for Cagliari: Charalampos Lykogiannia- IN| Gagliano-OUT

Well, that was some end to the first half. After opening the scoring early, Cagliari defended throughout the half. Juventus had a moment of loss of concentration and it cost them dearly as the home team doubled the lead. Will Juventus script a comeback?

45+5' JUST WIDE!! He goes for the far post but the ball bends away a few yards off target in the ed.

45+4' Free-kick for Juventus from a scoring distance as Cuadrado is brought down. Pjanic to take it.

45+2' GOOOOOALLLLL!!!! IT'S 2-0 TO CAGLIARI! THIS TIME, IT'S SIMEONE! Simeone receives and overhead pass outside the box on the right, he takes a good first touch, takes advantage of a slow Bonucci press and rifles the ball past Buffon to the far corner.

Two minutes have been added to the first half.

41' JUST WIDE! Cuadrado, from the cusp of the box on the right, has an ambitious effort on goal. He beats the keeper to the far post but the ball drifts wide. Not a bad effort from the Juv right-back.

38' JUST OVER! Stinging delivery into the centre of the box from the post and Higuain looks to finish it on the volley. He is unmarked and yet, he shoots the ball over the frame of goal.

37' BLOCKED AND CORNER! Mattiello in the wall jumps on time to block Ronaldo's free-kick and concedes the corner.

36' Free-kick for Juventus! Bernardeschi is up against Rog and Klavan. He dribbles his way past the latter before losing his footing. Referee deems it a foul and Ronaldo stands over the dead ball. So is Pjanic.

32' JUST WIDE!! Bonucci misses by a whisker. Pjanic's corner is fisted away by Cragno and the ball falls to the defender, who latches on the ball first-time and drags it just wide of the right post.

31' CORNER! Patient build-up by Juve. Eventually, ball is played to Ronaldo at the cusp of the box on the right. He takes a shot but it is deflected for a corner by Mattiello.

29' Play resumes and Juventus holds possession. They are probing around the box but still unable to unlock the Cagliari defence.

27' Cooling break has been taken.

25' YELLOW CARD FOR SARRI! The champion's coach is now booked for excessive protest to the Pjanic booking.

24' YELLOW CARD FOR PJANIC! Well, with this game, Pjanic's time at Juve will come to an end. He is booked for a late challenge and will miss the final game.

17' YELLOW CARD! Marko Rog is the first player to enter the referee's book today and he will miss Cagliari's match on the final day. He brings down Bentacur with a late tackle and he pays the price.

16' GOOOOOALLLLL! Scratch that! Ronaldo is off-side. Bernardeschi cuts into the box from the right, dribbles past defenders before squrting a pass two Ronaldo. He beats the keeper but he was too early there.

13' SAVE! Buffon continues to be tested. Cagliari left-back Mattiello whips the ball, from the left, towards the near post and Buffon does well to get down on time to make the save.

8' GOOOOOALLLLLL!!!!! CAGLIARI IS AHEAD!! LUCA GAGLIANO!! ON HIS HOME DEBUT! A dangerous cross from the right wing beats everybody, but is played back into the centre of the box by Mattiello. Gagliano gets to the end of it and beats Buffon from close range.

7' SAVE! Higuain latches on to a through into the box but he fails to beat Cragno at near the near post on the right.

5' SAVE! Simone Muratore, making his first start for the Old Lady, involves Cagliari keeper with a shot, but is unable to put any power behind it. Cragno makes an easy save.

3' SAVE! An easy one for Buffon as he is brought into play early. Luca Gagliano's weak shot from the edge of the box is easy gloved by the veteran goalkeeper.

2' POUCHED! Cuadrado, looks for an early cross into the box from the right wing but hits it directly to goalkeeper Cragno.

Final away game for the champion, which is seeking a ninth consecutive win in Sardinia.

1' Cagliari gets the match underway.

Let's find out which team ends the night on a happier note today.

The players have made their way out. First, Juventus followed by the home team Cagliari.

->Juventus returns to Serie A as champion for the ninth consecutive time after beating Sampdoria in its previous match.

->It is up against Cagliari, which is winless in its last six matches.

->Juventus has only won two of its last six matches, but it had done enough before this phase to ensure that the title was within reach.

-> Juve- Current position in table: 1st [P-36 |W-26 |D-5 |L-5 | POINTS-83 ]

-> Cagliari- Current position in table: 14th [P-36 |W-10 |D-12 |L-14 | POINTS-42 ]

-> A win today can take the home side to 12th place, displacing Fiorentina.

-> The race for the Golden Boot now seems out of Ronaldo's reach. Lazio defeated Brescio 2-0 earlier today and Immobile, who scored in the 82nd minute, now sits on 35 Serie A goals.

-> Cristiano Ronaldo has 31. Immobile has now surpassed Bayern's Robert Lewandowski's tally of 34 and is now the frontrunner to win the European Golden Shoe.

-> First a potential Ballon d'Or and now the Golden Shoe, Lewandowski has been hard done this year despite producing one of his best season ever. This game is cruel.

Juventus returns to Serie A as champion for the ninth consecutive time after beating Sampdoria in its previous match. Here's how the events transpired at the Alliaz Stadium in Turin.

Juventus won the Serie A title for the ninth season in a row when Cristiano Ronaldo set it on the way to a 2-0 win over Sampdoria on Sunday, although the Portuguese veteran missed a late penalty.

The 35-year-old broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time with his 31st league goal of the season and Federico Bernardeschi added the second as Juve moved seven points clear of Inter Milan.

Juve, in its first season under coach Maurizio Sarri, clinched the title with two games to spare despite a stuttering run in which it won only one out of five matches before Sunday.

Sarri, who claimed the first major Italian title of his career, blamed the side's problems on the unique situation caused by the three-month coronavirus stoppage which led to the championship race finishing in a hectic six weeks played at the height of summer.

Juventus has 83 points while Inter, whose coach Antonio Conte led the Turin side to the first three titles of its present run, is on 76 and Atalanta and Lazio have 75 each.

Sampdoria, which has climbed away from the relegation zone in the last few rounds and is 15th, had Morten Thorsby sent off for second bookable offence in the 76th minute.

Juventus lost two players to injury in the first half as defender Danilo had to go of after colliding with Gaston Ramriez and Paulo Dybala suffered a muscular injury to his left leg.

Juventus lost two players to injury in the first half as defender Danilo had to go of after colliding with Gaston Ramriez and Paulo Dybala suffered a muscular injury to his left leg.

Fabio Quagliarella had Sampdoria's best first-half chance when the ball was pulled back to him but his left-foot shot was weak and easily stopped by Wojciech Szczesny.

Juve went ahead from a free kick when Miralem Pjanic rolled the ball to Ronaldo and the Portuguese swept the ball home.

Sampdoria had a flurry of chances early in the second half.

Mehdi Leris side-footed wide, Szczesny had to turn a looping Ramirez free kick around his post and Lorenzo Tonelli sent a powerful header narrowly wide from the resulting corner.

After those let-offs, Juve doubled its lead in 67th minute. Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero could not hold Ronaldo's shot and Bernardeschi, who had replaced Danilo, snapped up the rebound.

Ronaldo's evening ended on a sour note when he smashed a penalty against the crossbar after Alex Sandro was fouled.
