LIVE UPDATES:

- That is all from my side. Thanks for joining me, see you later! Good night.

Full time: Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Liverpool: Firmino's first-half goal is the difference tonight as Liverpool seals three points. The Reds' lead at the top of the table is now extended to 16 points.

90+4' - Owing to the change made by Klopp, we will have few more seconds in this game.  Lallana and Shaqiri are trying to pile pressure from the right flank.

90+3' - Son with a curling shot from about 18 yards out but Alisson collects it. That should be it for Spurs and Mourinho.

90+2' - Shaqiri gets into the groove from the beginning as he fires a cross from the right side. Wijnaldum, though, can't get his head to the ball.

90+1' - Shaqiri is the third and final change from the visiting Reds -- he comes on for the Merseyside favourite Salah.

90' - Origi causes trouble for Spurs defence as he gets into the box but Gazzaniga saves Origi's shot. Three minutes have been added on.

89' - Lamela shoots from distance but that does not test Alisson at all. Can Spurs bounce back here?

86' - Four minutes of regulation time pending as things get heated in North London. Spurs is desperate for a goal as it sends a long ball over for Son but Alisson comes ahead to collect it. Meanwhile, Alderweireld is unhappy that Robertson's foul is unnoticed by the referee.

82' - WIDE! Lo Celso sends the tap-in wide of the goal, from very close range. Mourinho is visibly disappointed as he goes down on his knees, but follows it with a smile. Klopp, though, is furious seeing Liverpool's sloppy defense which allowed Son to attack from the left side and cut into the middle, which let Aurier whip the cross for Lo Celso inside the box.

80' - Spurs tries to attack from the right side as Lo Celso fires a cross. It however goes untouched as Lamela is too quick with his run, whereas Son failed to make any run. Meanwhile, Mane has been replaced by Origi. Ten minutes of regulation time pending now.

79' - Lallana blocks Moura at the edge of the box, just when the Spurs attacker was about to pull the trigger. Spurs did well to move the ball from the backline until the Liverpool box as Son found Moura with a cross from the right side.

78' - Looks like Klopp wants to make his second change as the camera pans towards Origi getting ready with his gloves and boots.

75' - OVER! Son absolutely wastes Spurs' chance to get back into the game as he shoots over the bar. The South Korean should've buried it but he seemed to be under pressure from the Liverpool defenders tracking back. This, however, was Spurs' best chance of the game and Mourinho won't be happy to see that go in vain.

73' - Tanganga seems to be still in pain as the referee pauses play. Vertonghen could replace the debutant as he is seen warming up.

69' - Double change for Spurs: Rose is replaced by Lamela; Eriksen makes way for Lo Celso.

66' - Robertson and Tanganga collide as the two go down in pain but play continues. Gazzaniga pulls off a save to deny Mane a header from close range after Alexander-Arnold crossed from the right.

64' - Alderweireld blocks Robertson's shot out for a corner. The set-piece is easily repelled by Moura.

61' - First change of the game: Liverpool - Chamberlain off, Lallana on.

60' - Corner for Spurs as Eriksen takes it but Son is flagged offside as he goes for the ball. Earlier, Son shot wide after Eriksen found him at the edge of the box with a good cross.

59' - Firmino goes for the curler after him and Salah combine with a one-two in the middle. Firmino aims for the top right corner but Gazzaniga picks it.

57' - SAVE! Alisson collects Aurier's shot from the box after Spurs attacks following a mistake from Gomez. Alli attacks towards the Liverpool box but is blocked inside the 18-yard-box by Van Dijk. The ball though is not cleared which allows Aurier to shoot but Alisson comes to the rescue.

55' - Henderson's lofted pass for Robertson is dealt by Aurier. Liverpool is looking in control of the game so far.

STAT: Ball possession: Tottenham 29%, Liverpool 71%.

50' - Salah comes in from the right side into the box and he sends the pass for Mane on the left after he releases he does not have the space to shoot it himself. Mane picks out Alexander-Arnold who makes his way at the edge of the box but Alexander-Arnold's shot bounces across the face of goal.

49' - Sanchez intercepts Firmino as Mane, from the left flank, sends the ball on the other end for the goal scorer.

47' - Spurs gets going as it attacks early into the second half but Moura shoots wide after being clipped on by Henderson.

46' - Second half starts. No changes at the break for either sides.

45' - Three minutes of stoppage time has been introduced. Eriksen takes a corner for the host and Moura heads it over the bar when he could have flicked it home at the near post.

37' - VAR checks for handball from Henderson while he was heading down the ball for Salah. The review shows the ball hit Alli's arm, so that's clear -- Liverpool's goal stands!

37' - GOAL! Roberto Firmino scores for Liverpool! Tottenham 0-1 Liverpool. Following a throw-in, Salah slides the ball into the path of Firmino, who was at the near post. Firmino sends it beyond Gazzaniga after Salah and Henderson gained possession inside the penalty area.

34' - Alexander-Arnold throws in from the right and Salah spins Rose. He shoots inside the box but it is an easy block for Sanchez.

31' - Smooth attack from Spurs led by Alli and Aurier is blocked halfway by Van Dijk.

30' - Alisson comes way off his line as he sees Moura marching towards the goal. Moura looks unhappy as he claims Van Dijk obstructed his run. Half hour in, no goals yet.

27' - Aurier gets the better of Robertson as he wins the ball. He makes his way up the right flank and finds Moura at the edge of the box with a pass. Van Dijk, though, gets to it first.

25' - Aurier is fed with the ball in the box by Eriksen but the former tries to back-heel it...only to be silenced by Robertson.

23' - SAVE! Gazzaniga blocks Van Dijk's header in the box after the visitor was awarded a corner-kick.  Off the set-piece, Salah set up Henderson who sent a delivery for Van Dijk at the near post. Seconds later, Son is brought down by Gomez and the Liverpool defender picks a yellow.

21' - Eriksen has a tame attempt at goal at the other end as Spurs players get going. Later, Liverpool tries to attack from the left but Tanganga clears.

20' - Sanchez does well defensively as he marks Salah who was making his way in the Spurs box. It has been 0-0 so far.

19' - Chamberlain sends a diagonal ball into the box again but it is blocked. Son then takes possession of the ball and moves further up the pitch but Henderson intercepts. Liverpool tries to build attack but nothing worthwhile comes off it.

17' - Chamberlain, from outside the box, sends a long ball in for Mane but Sanchez heads it away.

16' - Liverpool players move the ball from left to right with some quick passes. The final one sees Alexander-Arnold attempt an optimistic cross from the right which goes out of the field of play.

12' - Robertson's cross from the left flank goes wide as nobody gets to the end of it. He gets the thumbs up from the Liverpool midfield for the effort. On the other end, Alli shoots over the bar after a Alexander-Arnold kicks the ball up onto his hand.

10' - Salah picks out Mane in close range of the goal inside the box with a delivery but Gazzaniga collects the ball.

7' - Henderson clumsily gives away the ball to Son, who rushes towards the box. The Spurs attacker however is poor with his shooting skills as he curls it wide.

5' - Moura causes trouble for the Reds as he ways his way towards the Liverpool box from the left flank. He takes a shot from the edge of the box but it goes wide of the post.

Match preview

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho would love to be the one who ends Liverpool’s year-long unbeaten run in the Premier League, and Saturday’s game could be closer than the standings suggest.

The late match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be the first between Jurgen Klopp’s men and a Mourinho side since Manchester United dismissed the Portuguese after a 3-1 defeat at Anfield in December 2018.

“Don’t sack Mourinho,” the crowd chorused mockingly during that 2018 humiliation, so revenge in North London would be sweet.

Spurs has been shockingly leaky, and some are expecting a classic demonstration of Mourinho’s bus-parking expertise in defence and a few tactical tricks.

“The way Spurs used to play under Mauricio Pochettino, you would have expected them to come out and have a go at us but I can’t see that happening under Jose Mourinho,” former Liverpool striker John Aldridge wrote in a column for the city’s Echo newspaper.

“I am sure they will try to soak up pressure and hit us on the break with Lucas Moura, Son (Heung-Min) and Dele Alli.

“They will allow us to have possession and try to break them down, no doubt that is how Mourinho will play because I think he is very intimidated by Liverpool.”

The match could still be an awkward trip for the visiting Reds who beat Tottenham in last year’s Champions League final and have a near-perfect record of 58 points out of 60 this season to sit 13 points clear at the top.

Mourinho, who replaced the sacked Pochettino at Spurs in November, has only twice been on the winning side against Klopp in their 10 previous games as opponents.

To do it again, Tottenham will have to rise to the challenge without injured captain Harry Kane.
