Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has become the client to agent Mino Raiola after sacking Donato di Campli on Thursday.

Reports emerged that the 24-year-old Italian was unhappy with his former agent’s comments about the former being held hostage at the Parisian club against his wishes. This forced Verratti to issue a public apology to the club and its fans.

Verratti took to social media site Instagram to post the announcement that he has terminated ties with di Campli and appointed Raiola.

Raiola is considered to be among the “super agents” of football serving high profile clients such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, among others. In the last 12 months, he helped the trio complete moves to Manchester United for a combined fee of £165 million.

Speculations are rife that Verratti would complete a transfer to United amid interest from Spanish club FC Barcelona.
