Anirban Lahiri played out an eventful 12 holes before darkness halted his second round at the Dean and Deluca Invitational here.

Lahiri, five-under and lying second after the first round, opened with a 24-foot eagle and a birdie in the first two holes. But four bogeys and just one more birdie in the next seven holes saw him turn in even-par. A birdie on the 10th meant he was one-under and had six more holes to play when the shortened second day came to an end. Play started late by three hours.

Lahiri is now six-under through 30 holes and lying fifth and three behind first round leader Bryce Molder, who was nine-under after being three-under through 15 in the second round.

Lahiri had to wait for more than three hours before beginning his round late in the evening and was unable to finish the round.

As play stopped, Lahiri was among 61 of the 121 players still on the course. They will return to complete the second round on Saturday morning local time. The third round will be played after the cut is made.

At nine-under, Molder was a stroke ahead of Webb Simpson (65-67) and two in front of second-ranked Jordan Spieth (67-66) and Patrick Reed.

Simpson (67) and Spieth (66) had completed their rounds, while Reed, 65 in first, was two-under through eight in second. Reed had 10 holes left.
