England's men and women progressed through to the quarter-finals of the GolfSixes on Saturday.

The two teams emerged from Group D at the expense of South Africa and Sweden at the tournament designed to make golf more appealing to a younger audience.

The 16 teams were drawn in four groups - each playing three matches over a six-hole lay-out - with the top two advancing to the last eight.

And it was a good day for the hosts - male pairing Eddie Pepperell and Matt Wallace joined by Georgia Hall and Charley Hull in going through.

The European Women's team, comprising Carlota Ciganda and Mel Reid, also qualified along with Thailand, Australia and South Korea.

Ireland and France came through Group C.
