Ireland's Paul Dunne and Gavin Moynihan claimed victory against France in Sunday's GolfSixes final.

With inaugural champions Denmark failing to make it out of their group, the opportunity was there for a new team to seize the title and it was the Irish pair who edged through after a relatively favourable run to the final.

England's women were dispatched in the last eight, before a seventh hole was required to defeat South Korea in the semi-finals of the European Tour event.

But then, against the French duo of Mike Lorenzo-Vera and Romain Wattel, Ireland won points on two of the first three holes and were out of sight when their opponents failed to make any gains on the next two.

South Korea finished third after a dominant 3 and 1 win against Australia - last year's finalists - in the play-off.
