Johnson: 'FedEx Cup title would cap off a great season'

Dustin Johnson has his sights set on adding to his growing resume by winning the Tour Championship at East Lake, and the FedEx Cup.

The World No. 2 leads the way in the FedEx Cup standings by 200 points with one tournament of the finals series remaining, and comes into the Tour finale having won the BMW Championship last time out.

Victory in Atlanta would secure both titles for the U.S. Open champion, while finishing as low as 29th could also snare the FedEx Cup crown, providing other players' scores go his way.

But the 32-year-old is focused on guaranteeing victory through his own efforts, to ensure there are is not a worrying wait after round four on Sunday.

"It [winning both titles] would mean a great deal, it would definitely cap off a great season," he told a media conference.

"It's a championship I haven't won before, the FedEx or the Tour Championship, so it'd two great championships to add to the resume.

"I would be honoured to stand there at the end and hold either one of the trophies."

And Johnson believes the quality of his all-round game stands him in good stead ahead of Thursday's opening round - when he will play alongside nearest rival Patrick Reed.

"I feel like I'm playing better golf, I feel like my game is better than it has been in years past," he added.

"My all-round game is better, my short game is really good right now, I'm putting really nicely, I'm driving it well, so I feel like my whole game is better coming in this time."
