The world's 13th-ranked golfer made it official on Sunday when he said "we are all in" after finishing the Scottish Open.

Reed was a late addition to the team when Dustin Johnson withdrew his name on Friday, citing the Zika virus as a potential threat to his family.

"I got the email and I got a phone call from Team U.S.A. last night and went through a lot of things with them, and we're all in," Reed said.

"There weren't doubts as much as clarifications.

"I wasn't in any of the meetings because I was always on the outside. Now that I'm on the inside, I was able to talk to the right people and figure out everything that's going on and what the plans are.

"How's the Zika virus and how's the security were really my only main concerns. Yes, it's a risk, but I feel it's a risk that we're all willing to take.

"Just thinking about having a gold medal means a lot. I think the biggest thing is I get to represent my country again. I get to wear the red, white and blue. Any time I get to wear those colours, it's a huge day."
