Bryson DeChambeau is delighted to be paired with defending champion Jordan Spieth on his debut at The Masters.

The duo will be joined at the tee for the first two rounds at Augusta by Paul Casey, and amateur DeChambeau is excited by the prospect.

The 22-year-old, who played alongside Rory McIlroy at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March, has encountered Spieth before and is looking forward to featuring alongside the world number two this week.

"[I am] super-thrilled, can't wait. He's a class-act guy and he's a great ambassador for the game of golf," said DeChambeau.

"We're friendly. He's been super nice to me and he's been gracious in giving his time. He messes with me every once in a while, but he's been really nice and I've gained a little bit of experience.

"I've seen how he reacts to certain people when someone says something to him, just those sort of things I've learned a great deal from."

DeChambeau admitted he did not expect to be playing The Masters so early in his career and will take a measured approach to the competition.

"It's just really an honour, I would have never thought in a million years I'd be here this early aged 22," he said.

"I don't have any expectations. I'm just going to focus on doing my best, whether that's making the cut or doing something special, and whatever it is I'll learn from it."
