Delhi’s Vani Kapoor played yet another bogey free round on Friday.

Vani Kapoor bagged her third title of the season when she shot two under 70 on the final day in the seventh leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour here today.

Kiran Matharu finished runner-up with a total score of 211. Delhi’s Vani started from where she left yesterday and played yet another bogey free round. She began cautiously and played an even par front nine. She carded two birdies on the 13th and 18th holes in the latter half to finish with a total score of 210 after 54 holes.

Overseas player Kiran too recorded the same score of 2 under 70 in the final round to register her third runner-up finish of the season. She carded four birdies on the 9th, 10th, 13th and 18th holes while dropping shots on the 15th and 17th to finish with a total score of 211.

Kolkata’s Neha Tripathi, Bengaluru’s Sharmila Nicollet and Kapurthala golfer Amandeep Drall finished tied third with identical totals of 214. Overnight leader Neha Tripathi could not sustain her second round momentum and carded 2 over 74 in the final round.

She started impressively, carding a birdie on the 5th hole, followed by an eagle on the 9th. However, three bogeys on the 10th, 15th and 17th along with a double on the 11th undid the good work and she had to settle for the third position. Sharmila carded an even par round of 72 on the day. She had birdies on the 8th and 18th holes along with bogies on the 14th and 15th. She also fired an eagle on the 3rd hole, which was negated by a double bogey on the 17th.

Amadeep’s round of par 72 included two birdies on the 2nd and 8th holes along with an equal number of bogeys on the 11th and 13th.

Kapurthala’s Gursimar Badwal carded 2 over 74 in the final round to take the sixth position. She carded two birdies on the 6th and 12th holes while dropping shots on the 1st and 18th. She also carded a double on the 17{+t}{+h} to finish with a total score of 215.

Kolkata’s Smriti Mehra finished seventh with a total score of 220, followed by Delhi’s Mehar Atwal and Mehak Sharma in eighth and ninth position respectively. PTI
