Tiger Woods has climbed 248 ranking positions thanks to > his performance at the Hero World Challenge. Making his return from 15 months out with a serious back problem, Woods finished 15th out of 18 players in the Bahamas, although he did end the tournament four under par.

That effort was enough to earn the 14-time major winner a significant rankings boost. Having started the week in 898th, Woods - who avoided any fitness worries on his return - is now ranked 650th.

During the week, Woods admitted that he was "absolutely" still chasing Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 major championships. Woods, 40, also stated that he hopes to play a "full schedule" in 2017 in an attempt to return to his best form.
