A commanding win for the home team in the end. Four wins out of five for the side and it ends the group stage on top with 13 points. For Pakistan, it will be the 5th place playoff next. Harmanpreet Singh started by scoring two in the first half. Jugraj Singh added the third before Akashdeep topped it off with his deflected goal in the final period.

Mandeep Singh and Hardik Singh combine to launch a counter attack. The former opens up into space but his pass in the final third goes out of play as he slips to the ground.

AKASHDEEP SINGH MAKES IT FOUR NIL TO INDIA! Nilankanta finds Mandeep on the left side of the circle. Mandeep traps it and plays it to Akashdeep from between two Pakistani defender. Akashdeep is right in front of keeper. and diverts the ball’s direction.

Umar Bhutta thrashes a pass into the circle. Harmanpreet traps it and then cooly dribbles it past three Pakistan players.

India breaks away on a counter attack but the final shot from Karthi misses the right post.

Karthi hits a pass into the circle from the right but there is no Indian stick to hit into the board. Seconds later, Mandeep has the ball in the circle but he is closed down quickly.

Manpreet plays an aerial for Nilakanta on the right side of the Pakistani circlee. Nilakanta traps it, fires away at goal and Sukhjeet taps it in. The umpire, however, sees the ball come off Sukhjeet’s hand and disallows the goal.

The third quarter comes to an end. India managing to consolidate its lead without much trouble on the defensive end.

Just one quarter left for the side to manage and it will end the group stage as the topper.

An error in trapping the ball sees the Pakistan chance from the short corner go by.

Akashdeep misses a sitter! Karthi darts down the left side and feeds Akashdeep on the far post. He has an empty goal to fire it into. Guess what, he fires it wide.

MISS! Just like that Harmanpreet slides one into the circle to catch the Pakistan defence off guard. Akashdeep’s deflection on the right side misses the goal by the barest of margin.

As things stand, Pakistan will not make the cut for the semifinals. However, one goal scored and it still might get through.

India enters the break with its noses in front. While the scoreline might not suggest so, Pakistan has had entries into the circle which produced chances. India, however, kept calm to sustain the early spell of pressure. After the first quarter, its mostly been India testing Pakistan.

The second try is saved by the post man but India has opted for a referral. Harmanpreet thinks it has come off the leg and asked for the TV umpire’s advice.

The TV umpire sees no reason to reverse the decision. Long corner for India to continue and the side loses it refrral.

The drag flick from Harmanpreet comes off the first rusher’s foot. Another corner for India.

Jarmanpreet Singh fires a pass after entering the circle on the right. It is raised dangerously by a Pakistani stick and India has a PC.

Gurjant and Shamsher try to combine on the right. Gurjant slips a threaded pass to Shamsher but the latter cannot get to it. Too much weight on the ball.

Manpreet tries a horizontal slap into the circle but there it escapes any contact and runs out of play.

Gurjant Singh takes two swipes at goal but fails to test the keeper on either. Still, relentless pressure from the Indians.

HARMANPREET SINGH DOUBLES THE LEAD! It down the middle again but at an awkward height for Akmal Hussain and the ball creeps between his legs to rattle the net.

India wins the ball in near Pakistan’s 23-yard line. The pass is played to Sukhjeet Singh in the circle but he cannot trap the aerial.

Mandeep again causing trouble on the left side. Thankfully for Pakistan, Usama Bashir is in his way to win the ball back.

India starts the play for the second quarter.

Paksitan controlled the better of the quarter but it is India that walks away with the lead. Harmanpreet Singh with another penalty corner conversion to add to his tally for the tournament.

Mandeep Singhgets a long pass into the Pakistan circle. He just takes a fraction of a second too long to trap it and that allows time to cover the angle for his tomahawk.
