SAG: India men to play Pakistan for gold

India set up a gold medal fight with Pakistan after beating Sri Lanka 3-0 in a men’s hockey round-robin match in Guwahati on Wednesday.

India set up a gold medal fight with Pakistan after beating Sri Lanka 3-0 in a men’s hockey round-robin match here on Wednesday.

India scored the first goal though Gagandeep Singh off captain Mandeep Antil's pass in the eighth minute before Gaganpreet Singh made it 2-0 converting a penalty corner in the 30th minute. After the break, Gaganpreet converted one more penalty corner in the 56th minute to make it 3-0 for India, which took the second spot with two wins and a loss against Pakistan.

Pakistan topped the men’s pool with an all-win record defeating Bangladesh 6-0 in its last league match. The gold medal clash comes up on Friday.
