Holkar Stadium was covered on Wednesday due to heavy rains but the weather is expected to clear out by Saturday.

As per the present weather trend, rain is unlikely play spoilsport during the final India-New Zealand Test which begins here on October 8.

Rain in Indore is going to wither in two days, India Meteorological Department’s Bhopal Centre director Anupam Kashyapi said.

As per the current trend, there is little possibility of rain on October 8, 9 and 10. If some change in weather pattern takes place, it might drizzle for 30 minutes or so during the day time of these three days, said the director.

However, he said that if the upper air circulation over Bay of Bengal advances to Indore, light showers might be witnessed on October 11 and 12.

Despite drizzles, moist and inky clouds, the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) is upbeat to hold the first Test in the city.

“We are leaving no stone unturned to make the scheduled match a success given that the Madhya Pradesh was holding the test for the first time,” MPCA president Sanjay Jagdale said.

He also said that keeping in mind the inclement weather, the Association has made special arrangements.

India has already clinched the three-match series by comprehensively winning the first two Tests. While the hosts defeated the Kiwis by 197 runs in Kanpur in the series opener, it trounced the visitor by 178 runs in the second Test at Kolkata.
