The two sides went toe to toe in the opening period, trading successful raids and tackles. A close first-half finished 13-9 in Haryana’s favour.

A super tackle, followed by a double touch, helped Haryana take a 17-11 lead. Gujarat’s Abozar Mohajermighani and Fazel Atrachali – the Iranian pair were the last two men left on the mat - tried to hold fort. Haryana’s Vikas Kandola, however, broke their resistance. Mohajermighani nearly pulled off a shoulder grapple tackle, but Khandola managed to sneak his foot back into safe waters.

The all-out that followed – the first of the match – gave Haryana a handy 22-12 advantage. Gujarat could not find a way out of the hole, and fell to its first defeat in three fixtures. Haryana – aided by strong performances by defenders Mohit Chhillar (seven points) and Surender Nada (6 points) - recorded a maiden victory in three attempts.

TITANS DRAWS WITH BULLS

A terrific comeback performance by Telugu Titans helped the side salvage a 21-21 draw against Bengaluru Bulls.

Titans looked down and out, trailing 15-20 with just three minutes to go. On the back of successful raids from Rakshit and Rahul Chaudhari, the deficit was clipped to 20-21. On the final play of the match, Chaudhari managed to get one touch.
