Bengal Warriors plays its best game of the season as it beats Tamil Thalaivas by a whopping 31-point margin. Maninder Singh and Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh starred with 14 and 13 points respectively, while Abozar Mighani also bagged a High-5 to lead the side to a massive win. Tamil Thalaivas had little to cheer for and slips to its sixth straight loss.
We now head into the second game of the evening as Telugu Titans takes on Jaipur Pink Panthers. Join me on the blog here - Pro Kabaddi PKL 8 Highlights: Jaipur Pink Panthers retains playoff hopes, beats Telugu Titans 54-35
FULL-TIME! Bengal Warriors defeats Tamil Thalaivas 52-21.
51-20 Mohit has his second tackle point of the game as he ushers Manoj off the mat.
51-19 HIGH-5 FOR ABOZAR! The left corner tackles Himanshu to pick up his first High-5 of the season! Take nothing away from him, but where has this form been all season?
50-19 ALL OUT! NABIBAKHSH INFLICTS AN ALL OUT FOR THE THIRD TIME TODAY! The Iranian is well and truly playing his best game of the season.
46-19 Asiri seemed to have picked up a point there but was unsure and went back to try again. He is trapped by Abozar and that's that.
45-19 That's a gift for Nabibakhsh. Sahil sprints towards the Iranian and quite literally pushes him past the mid-line. A humongous 26-point lead for the Warriors!
42-18 That's just too easy for Maninder. Santhapanaselvam makes a half-hearted ankle hold and Maninder says thank you very much.
40-18 Another point in the bag for Himanshu as he slips out of Amit's attempted ankle hold.
39-17 Himanshu Singh has come off the bench and quickly picked up four raid points.
Fun fact: Tamil Thalaivas has two Sagars, two Sahils and two Himanshus in its team!
39-14 This is absolute carnage now. Maninder eliminates Mohit and Sahil to take his tally to 13 points.
37-14 Himanshu gets rid of both the Iranians - Abozar and Nabibakhsh!
Nabibakhsh might just be playing at his best today! He looked very sharp at the start of the season but then endured a long slump. He's done really well today, but it's too little too late.
37-12 SUPER 10 FOR NABIBAKHSH! The Iranian darts into a pursuit raid and coolly tags Asiri.
34-11 ALL OUT! NABIBAKHSH IS TRULY UNSTOPPABLE TODAY! The Iranian is tackled well by Himanshu and Sagar and it seems like the raid is done but he relentlessly wrestles his way out of the tackle to bag two more points and clinch the All Out.
29-11 Both teams pick up a point each as Athul heads into the lobbies and is followed by a defender.
HALF-TIME: Bengal Warriors holds a massive 18-point lead over Tamil Thalaivas at 28-10.
27-10 SUPER 10 FOR MANINDER! The Warriors captain goes in for the do-or-die raid and waits until the dying seconds before escaping Mohit's dash.
Where has this Bengal Warriors side been? They've been so good today but failed to turn up when it mattered the most last week!
24-10 ALL OUT! Ran Singh pins Athul to the mat and Bengal Warriors has roared to a 14-point lead!
21-9 Maninder outfoxes for the third time today and Thalaivas are down to one man - MS Athul.
20-8 Nabibakhsh quite literally runs through Mohit to reduce Tamil Thalaivas to two men. Another All Out in the offing?
18-8 Maninder comes up with another superb raid as he wrestles Sagar to the mid-line. Maninder has seven points already!
16-8 Sukesh picks up his first point of the game as the Warriors continue to lead by eight points.
15-7 Sagar and Mohit combine to get the better of Maninder.
I'd said Nabibakhsh has looked a little off colour...looks like he took that personally! What a raid that was!
13-6 SUPER RAID + ALL OUT! Nabibakhsh produces a moment of brilliance as he shows stunning athleticism and strength to beat three defenders and inflict the All Out!
6-5 As easy as that, says Maninder. He overpowers Sagar and Sahil to bag two more points.
4-5 Tamil Thalaivas takes the lead for the first time as the defence comes together to deny Nabibakhsh. The Iranian has been very off colour in the last few games.
4-3 Maninder gets the better of Surjeet once again as he skips out of the latter's tackle.
3-2 Maninder gets rid of his counterpart, Surjeet, with a fine running hand touch.
2-2 Off you go Sukesh, says Mohit! Superb dash from the Thalaivas defender.
2-1 Himanshu, who had a really good game yesterday, does well to escape from Ran Singh's clutches.
2-0 Maninder Singh gets off the mark right away with a two-point raid.
Tamil Thalaivas has won the toss and chosen the side of the court, Bengal Warriors will raid first.

7:10pm: Tamil Thalaivas’ 43-31 defeat to the Puneri Paltan yesterday eliminated it from the race for a playoff spot. The defence, that had been its strength all season, finished the night with only six tackle points. The Thalaivas were in blistering form just a couple of week ago and looked on course to ending their wait for a maiden playoff appearance. But five straight losses mean they will now have to wait for another season to end their playoff drought.
7pm: Bengal Warriors' 37-27 loss against U Mumba drew curtains on their its defence. A tame defensive effort and a lackluster raiding performance saw th side's winless streak extend to six matches. Skipper Maninder Singh had an uncharacteristically quiet outing as he finished the game with only six points. With two games left, Bengal Warriors will look to finish the season strong before hitting the drawing board in the off-season.
6:50pm: “ Mereko dil me laga ki apun bhi kabhi yaha tak ja sakta hai (I felt deep down that there will come a day when I can also play in the League),” Aslam Inamdar recalls thinking when he first watched the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in 2014.
