K Prapanjan and Parvesh Bhainswal starred in Gujarat Fortunegiants' comfortable 47-37 win over Haryana Steelers in the Pro Kabaddi Season 6 here on Wednesday.

The raiding duo of Prapanjan and Sachin spearheaded the charge for Gujarat, achieving a super 10 each to score 22 points.

As it happened

Bhainswal and Sunil Kumar led the defence and contained the Haryana raiders throughout the match.

Monu Goyat top-scored for Haryana with 11 points but couldn’t prevent the team from getting knocked out of the playoff race.

Prapanjan kickstarted the proceedings with a two-point raid in the second minute as Gujarat raced to a 4-1 lead. Haryana, on the other hand, suffered an all-out as early as the fourth minute.

Monu tried to restore parity with a couple of good raids and was helped by Naveen, who made a super raid in the 12th minute to help Haryana reduce the deficit to seven points, trailing Gujarat 12-19.

Gujarat, however, was relentless in its pursuit for victory and made a two-point raid in the 27th minute to extend its lead to 32-19. It inflicted another all-out in the 29th minute to lead 36-20.
