Pro Kabaddi League: Bengaluru Bulls thrashes Telugu Titans 44-28

Bengaluru Bulls booked a place in the playoffs of the Pro Kabaddi League 2018 with a 44-28 rout of Telugu Titans while Jaipur Pink Panthers moved out of the bottom place with a 37-30 win over Haryana Steelers.

Bengaluru Bulls notched a thumping 44-28 victory over Telugu Titans in the southern derby of . The win ensured that Bengaluru Bulls’ qualification for the playoffs. Pawan Sehrawat continued his fine form with his ninth super 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League 2018-19 and top scored with 13 points.

It was a soild defensive performance by the Bulls defence as they racked up 12 tackle points. Rahul Chaudhari scored 12 raid points for Telugu Titans, but was unable to lift his side to match up to a clinical Bengaluru side.

It was a close affair in the first half as both teams started on equal footing with the score tied at 2-2 after two minutes. Pawan Sehrawat made a two-point raid in the third minute to give Bengaluru a 4-2 lead. A super tackle in the fourth minute got Titans back into the game as it trailed 4-5.

Bengaluru Bulls inflicted an all out in the 7th minute to lead 11-5. Rahul Chaudhari produced a super raid in the 9th minute to get Titans back in the game once again.

Titans inflicted an all out in the 15th minute to restore parity at 16-16, but Bulls scored six straight points to end the first half at 22-16.

The second half saw Bengaluru Bulls take complete control of the match as it inflicted two more all outs to maintain a healthy lead. There were moments of quality from Titans in the second half, but an error-prone defense allowed Pawan Sehrawat to reach his Super 10.

A super tackle in the 27th minute reduced the Bulls lead to 10 points as Titans trailed 21-31. Iranian all-rounder Mohsen Maghsoudlou was at fault twice in gifting easy points to Bengaluru. Rahul Chaudhari bagged three more points, but it was not enough for Titans, as Bengaluru secured a 44-28 win.

In the second match of the day, Jaipur Pink Panthers escaped the bottom place in Zone A with a 37-30 win over Haryana Steelers.
