The host gave a strong performance to take a 23-16 lead in the first period.

In the action-packed opening half, Patna rode on its raider-in-chief and captain Narwal's fine form and Monu Goyat’s fine support to give Titans a close fight. Narwal's three-pointer helped Patna effect the first all out on Titans in the fourth minute.

Titans replied well and rode on Rahul Chaudhuri's raids to make Patna all out within the 10th minute.

However, excellent tackles by Vishal Mane and Sachin Shingade and quick raid points gathered by Narwal earned the second all out on Titans in the 18th minute. Narwal secured the distinction of scoring the most number of raid points (156) collected by a player in a season.

Patna continued its dominance in the second half. Titans tried to close the gap, but could not prevent a composed Patna side from walking away with a deserving win.

The result: Patna Pirates 46 (Pardeep Narwal 14, Monu Goyat 10) bt Telugu Titans 30 (Rahul Chaudhari 7, Vikas 5).
