Dabang Delhi beat host Bengal Warriors 37-31 with a fantastic raid by Meraj Sheykh in the final 30 seconds in Pro Kabaddi League, at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata, on Sunday. Delhi, which qualified for the playoffs, finished third in the Zone A standings netting 68 points from 22 matches.
In the very first raid for Bengal, Maninder Singh fetched three points as Delhi misjudged the form of the attacker. The visitor regrouped quickly with Iranian Meraj Sheykh running through the Warriors defence with a series of successful raids.

Delhi got Warriors all out to take the score to 17-11 and kept up the momentum to finish the first half at 20-14.
Bengal came back into the match strongly after the break and got Dabang all-out to level the score 21-21. The host continued to pick up points and enjoyed a slender lead till midway into the second half.
The two teams went almost even on points till the last minute. With the score locked 31-31 and 30 seconds remaining in the match, Delhi sent Sheykh for the final raid. The Iranian ran amok in the Bengal territory and picked all the three host’s defenders with great show of agility and speed.
This got Delhi a total of five points from a single raid and got Bengal all out for the second time in the match. Sheykh had the best attacking figures of the match collecting 13 points from 19 raids.
