Summary: Right corner Sagar clinched nine tackle points as Tamil Thalaivas thrashed Telugu Titans 43-25. Sagar needed very little help from his teammates as he single-handedly kept the Titans raiders quiet in the Southern Derby. Sahil Gulia in the left corner picked up four points while raiders Ajinkya Pawar (10 points) and Manjeet (nine points) excelled in the one-sided victory. Telugu Titans was once again without sufficient quality across the mat. The absence of Siddharth Desai and Rajnish cost it dearly as it remained with just one win in the season. Thalaivas’ win, its second in as many matches, will give it much-needed confidence in its pursuit of a playoff spot.
FULL-TIME: Tamil Thalaivas beats Telugu Titans 43-25 to jump from 10th to fifth on the points table.
25-43: Final raid of the match and substitute raider Asiri goes in. However, he does not comeback as the ankle hold from the back followed by the block takes him down. Doesn't matter.
Four seconds left in the match. Final raid coming.
24-43: Galla Raju goes in for the raid, takes a running hand touch of Surjeet who is too late to step back and then makes it past Sagar Rathee's block. Telugu Titans has used the review asking for one more touch point. It is an unsuccessful one.
22-42: Hyunsu Park subbed in for the last minute of the game. However, the raider is unable to do anything significant before being mobbed by the Thalaivas.
21-40: Weird block from Abishek and Adarsh had no problem in taking the touch point before reaching safety.
19-40: Ninth tackle point of the night for Sagar Rathee. Poor Amit Chauhan had no clue where that tackle came from.
19-39: Galla Raju is the next raider. However, nothing too positive for the Titans as Sahil takes him down on the left corner with an easy ankle hold.
19-37: Ajinkya picks up a bonus.
18-36: Athul MS goes in for the raid and gets blocked rather too easily.
Final strategic timeout. Five minutes to go. A lead of 19 points. Surely, the Thalaivas can't let this slip, can they?
17-36: Galla Raju with a textbook running hand touch sends dangerous Sagar Rathee back to the bench.
16-36: ALL OUT!!! Amit Chauhan, last man on the mat for Titans, goes in for the raid but against an in-form Thalaivas defense, he is unable to do much.
16-31: Do-or-die raid, Ajinkya, touch point, Sandeep back to the bench. Easy as you like.
16-29: Four defenders on the mat for Titans but Sandeep Kandola takes down Manjeet with an ankle hold on his own.
First strategic time out. Ten minutes to go and Tamil Thalaivas looks set for a big win.
15-29: Galla Raju puts in the raid, thinks he has the touch point and walks into the lobbies before realising that he doesn't. Self out.
15-27: Wow! SUPER TACKLE!!!! And it is Sagar Rathee who brings Adarsh down on his own before come in for the assist.
15-25: Do-or-die raid for Ajinkya and he picks the bonus but then walks into the lobbies inflicting the self-out.
14-24: Adarsh returns with a multi-point raid. Mohit put in the dash but Adarsh held himself back to let Mohit go off the mat and then easily negotiated Abishek's block.
11-24: Do-or-die raid for Ajinkya and he does not disappoint. Akash went for the ankle hold but didn't get any support.
11-23: Rohit Kumar, despite being injured, goes in for the raid and it is an easy ankle hold for Sahil on the left corner.
11-22: Akash initiates the tackle on Manjeet before Sandeep comes in for the block.
HALF-TIME: Telugu Titans 10-22 Tamil Thalaivas
10-22: Last raid of the first half and it is another multi-point one for Manjeet who gets away from C Arun's attempt for the thigh hold. The tall raider got one more touch point before he reached the mid-line.
10-20: Rohit Kumar in for the raid, four Thalaivas players on the mat, tries the dubki but gets drowned.
9-18: Not this time, Surjeet. Galla Raju had reached way too close to the mid-line proving Surjeet's dash to be useless.
8-18: Manjeet picks up a bonus.
7-17: Ajinkya Pawar picks up a bonus.
7-15: ALL OUT!!! Titans had one defender on the mat and he surrendered in front of Manjeet.
7-12: Brutal dash by Surjeet sends Prince flying off the mat.
7-11: SUPER RAID!!!! That's one way to open your points tally for the night, Manjeet!! The Titans defense went all in on him but he somehow escaped from underneath the pile and made it past the mid-line.
7-8: Rohit Kumar picks up a bonus.
6-8: Do-or-die raid for Adarsh and Sagar Rathee (again) puts in a confident ankle hold to take the raider down.
6-7: Do-or-die raid for Ajinkya and the lightning-fast raider has been trapped beautifully by the Titans defense.
5-7: Another tackle point for Sagar. This time, he takes down Galla Raju.
5-6: First raid of the match for Adarsh and it is an unsuccessful one as Sagar Rathee gets hold of his ankle.
5-5: Do-or-die raid for Bhavani Rajput and he does not manage to take even a bonus before Sandeep Kandola goes for him and pushes him off the mat.
Rohit is holding his ankle.
3-5: Well done, Titans. Akash goes for the double ankle hold on Manjeet and gets the support in time. The tall raider is too far away from the mid-line to use his long reach.
2-5: Ajinkya's pace is too hot to handle for the Titans. He first took a touch off Arun and then went past Sandeep's block quite comfortably.
2-3: Brilliant dash by Abishek to push Rohit Kumar off the mat who just missed the mid-line.
2-2: Surjeet's poor form continues as Galla Raju runs away with a touch point. Tamil Thalaivas has used its review saying that the raider had stepped out of bounds before coming back in and getting past Surjeet's block. Review unsuccessful.
1-2: Ajinkya comes in for his raid and picks up a running hand touch off Sandeep Kandola on the left corner.
1-1: Rare error from Manjeet who walks into the lobbies without a touch.
0-1: Rohit Kumar comes in for the first raid and gets taken down by Sahil.
