Summary: This match is probably a contender for both the best and the worst match of the season. If you are a fan of attacking and high intensity kabaddi, this one was a treat as four raiders, two on each side, had Super 10. Out of those four, one actually had 21 raid points featuring a massive four-point raid. The tone for the match was set from the very first raid when Pardeep Narwal got a Super Raid.

However, the defense of both teams had a nightmarish day. Puneri Paltan in particular were awful in the second half as they simply could not work out how to stop Surender Gill. With this one, U.P. Yoddha has climbed up to fourth position on the points table while Puneri Paltan stays on 10th.

40-50: Finally raid of the game and it is Pardeep who is in. The Paltan defense takes him down but it is of no use now as U.P. Yoddha beat Puneri Paltan 50-40!!!

38-50: Vishal and Abinesh, what are you doing? Surender has owned the mat today. You simply don't need to touch him.

37-48: A quick running hand touch on Sumit by Aslam Inamdar.

35-48: Surender gets another touch point and this time the culprit is Sombir. Surender has 19 raid points today!

35-47: A dubki against the dubki king's team. Aslam Inamdar absolutely bamboozled Ashu there.

34-47: Aslam Inamdar is a genius. He saw Pardeep walking back leisurely to his side of the mat, had a quick pursuit and got a touch on him.

33-47: Monu Goyat failed to get a touch before stepping into the lobbies. What a sad way to walk back to the bench in such an incredible game!

Final strategic time-out of the match. Five minutes to go. I have never seen two teams raiding this brutally and two defences crumbling so miserably.

33-46: Shrikant Jadhav picked up a bonus before Vishal got the ankle hold. Puneri unsuccessfully reviewed against the bonus.

31-45: Surender had picked up a bonus. Sombir did not need to go for him but well, that's been the story of the night. Another multi-point raid for the UP raider.

31-43: Mohit Goyat picks up a bonus.

30-43: Not this time, Aslam. Nitesh Kumar backed himself to get Aslam Inamdar on his own and he did. Brilliant tackle.

30-42: SUPER RAID!!! Bonus and two touch points for Inamdar who has a SUPER 10.

24-40: ALL OUT!! U.P. Yoddha have done it again. Vishal Bharadwaj, the sole man on the mat for Paltan, came for the raid and got tackled.

24-37: Oh give me a breather guys! Surender Gill gets another two point raid. U.P. is running away with the game.

24-34: SUPER 10 FOR PARDEEP! We have missed you, Pardeep. We really have. Another touch point and the craziness just does not look like it is ending anytime soon.

23-32: Puneri Paltan should just plan something as nothing is working on Surender. Vishal and one other went in for him and the man in form gets his hand across the line again.

23-30: Mohit continues the good work as he gets a running hand touch on Ashu.

22-29: ALL OUT! Sub Vishwas S goes in for the raid from Paltan, gets a bonus but is unable to get a touch point and revive any of his teammates as he is tackled.

21-26: SUPER RAID!!! Surender Gill! Build the man a statue for that raid. The entire Paltan defense went all in on him but he somehow executed the dubki and got his hand across the line taking four defenders out. SUPER 10 FOR SURENDER.

21-22: Wow! Aslam Inamdar in for the raid, tries a dubki but gets brutally taken down by the U.P. defense.

21-20: Mohit Goyat resumes from where he left in the first half. Sumit tried to go solo and take him down but it's not that easy, is it?

Coach Anup Kumar has told his team not to avoid Pardeep and wait for the opportunity as he gets a bit careless at times.

Well, that was an insane first half where raiders were picking points for fun. Right from the first one which was a Super Raid by Pardeep, the action has been breathtaking. Stay tuned for second half because this promises to be a high scoring game.

HALF-TIME: Puneri Paltan 20-20 U.P. Yoddha

20-20: Vishal Bharadwaj went in for the ankle hold on Surender Gill but that was a weak one. Gill escapes easily.

19-20: Pardeep Narwal in for the do-or-die raid. He thinks he has managed to pick up the bonus but the official rules otherwise.

19-19: Mohit Goyat is having some day. A do-or-die raid for him and the UP defense went for him but failed to hold him as he got his hand across the line taking Sumit and Ashu out.

17-19: A do-or-die raid and it is Pardeep who has come in. Looks like he is moving back to the mid line but Vishal Bharadwaj has gifted him a touch point with an unnecessary and failed tackle.

17-18: A high quality ankle hold from UP skipper on Inamdar and the youngster simply could not escape.

17-17: Shubham Kumar tries to push Inamdar off the mat but fails.

16-17: ALL OUT!!! What a mad game this is! Now U.P. Yoddha has inflicted an all out on the Paltan as their final man Pankaj Mohite came for the raid, took a bonus but that was all he could do.

15-14: SUPER RAID!!! Surender Gill, you beauty!! Amazing dubki to get past Vishal and Sanket.

15-11: Two points for Shrikant Jadhav. And both touch points. Is this the commentator's curse on Puneri Paltan?

14-8: And so is there offense. Quick work there from Mohit Goyat to get a touch on Shubham Kumar who had no idea what happened.

13-8: Surender Gill has been taken down. Puneri Paltan defense is in full flow now.

Apologies folks! Internet messed up real bad for some time and in the mean time, Puneri Paltan has already inflicted an all out on U.P. Yoddha. Let's take it from 12-8.

5-5: Great running hand touch by left raider Mohit Goyat on left corner Sumit.

2-4: Second raid of Pardeep and it is Sanket Sawant again who tried to tackle him.

1-3: And Aslam Inamdar is up and running as he gets a touch on Sumit.

0-3: SUPER RAID!!! What a start from Pardeep Narwal! Sanket Sawant tried to block him but too close to the midline. Still, two others came for the assist and walk back to the bench.

Puneri Paltan won the toss. U.P. Yoddha to raid first.

7:20PM: LINE-UPS!!!

7:15PM: Head-to-head stats- Matches played - 5, Matches won by U.P. Yoddha - 3, Matches won by Puneri Paltan - 2

7:05PM: U.P. Yoddha are unbeaten in the last three games and are currently at sixth place on the points table which is the final qualifying spot for the playoffs. While their star raider Pardeep Narwal is yet to meet his own extraordinarily high standards, he did show his class when he saved his team from a certain All Out in consecutive raids in the final moments of their previous match against the bottom-placed Telugu Titans and ensured their win. Other raiders Shrikant Jadhav and Surender Gill have taken more responsibility so that the team is not solely reliant on Pardeep. In the defense, Nitesh Kumar and Sumit had a good match last time around. With a win or a tie against the Paltan, U.P. Yoddha can jump to fourth and further strengthen their position.

6:55PM: Coach Anup Kumar's Puneri Paltan seems to have finally clicked after two consecutive victories, both in convincing fashion, against U Mumba and Bengal Warriors. Young raider Aslam Inamdar has been absolutely sensational and with the return of Nitin Tomar, Puneri Paltan's offense has looked much better. Even in defense, Abinesh Nadarajan has been impressive with 22 tackle points in eight matches he has played. The men in orange will hope to continue this form when they face another team which has just found its rhythm in U.P. Yoddha.

6:45PM: The 2022 edition of the Sportstar Aces Awards is back and we are celebrating the marvellous year for Indian Sports that 2021 was.
