Tiruchi Police emerges cluster-level winner

In a keenly-contested final, Tiruchi Police edged out Sports Authority of India (SAI), Mayiladuthurai, 43-41, to reign supreme in the Tiruchi Cluster.

Tiruchi Police emerged cluster-level winner of 'The Hindu Kabaddi Kabaddi' State-level tournament here on Sunday.

In a keenly-contested final, Tiruchi Police edged out Sports Authority of India (SAI), Mayiladuthurai, 43-41, to reign supreme in the Tiruchi Cluster.

The two-day indoor event, conducted in association with the Tiruchi District Amateur Kabaddi Association at the Anna Stadium, was inaugurated by Collector K. Rajamani on Saturday. A total of 32 teams took part. A. Sundararaju, Executive Director, Thyrocare, handed over trophies and gave away cash prizes.

The winning team received a cash award of Rs. 25,000, while the runner-up got Rs. 15,000. Losing semifinalists, Balu Memorial (Melakalkandarkottai) and Perambalur district kabaddi team, received Rs. 7,500 each.

The event was presented by Thyrocare and powered by Black Thunder. Suguna Pumps and Motors was the associate sponsor. Ortho One was the sports medicine partner. Tamil Nadu Amateur Kabaddi Association was the event partner and JM was the TV partner.
