“We have a bunch of guys who play fearless cricket, and if we do that consistently, we will have a great season,” says captain Ajinkya Rahane.

As another IPL season beckons, Royals skipper, Ajinkya Rahane, is optimistic.

“A good start to the season is what we are looking for,” Rahane says.

While the side has a bunch of young talents, it is also bolstered by the return of Steven Smith. With the Aussie back in the team, the franchise hopes to make every opportunity count. “We have a bunch of guys who play fearless cricket, and if we do that consistently, we will have a great season,” the captain says.

The only time Rajasthan Royals won the IPL title was in the inaugural edition in 2008 and the captain believes that this team has the potential to clinch the title. “We have learnt a lot from our experience last season. Consistency will be the key for this season. I guess with the kind of squad we have in place this season, the team is eager to repeat the heroics of 2008,” Rahane says.

Rajasthan Royals begins its campaign at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on March 25, when it takes on Kings XI Punjab.
