Shaun Marsh (in pic. with Preity Zinta ), son of former Australian opener Geoff Marsh, was a revelation. The 25-year-old southpaw came up with an admirable blend of controlled hitting and technical competence with emphasis on placement rather than on flamboyance.
Tom Moody, the coach of Kings XI Punjab, was all praise for Shaun Marsh and threw some light on this talented cricketer. “He was not a revelation for us certainly. We all knew how good he is as he was voted best cricketer of the year in Western Australia and is in the ODI squad for the coming West Indies tour,” he pointed out.
“Shaun played sensible, percentage cricket without actually going for the slog,” said Yuvraj Singh about his performance against Deccan Chargers in Hyderabad.
Moody said that Marsh was really working hard for the last three to four weeks and was very keen to prove a point or two. “He is a future prospect for Australia. We are pleased with the way he grabbed the opportunity to come up with such a good knock.”
