The last and only time that India won a Test series in Sri Lanka was 22 years ago. India won the three-match series in 1993, 1-0. Since then India have played four series in Sri Lanka - in 1997, 2001, 2008 and 2010 - with Sri Lanka winning in 2001 and 2008, both by 2-1 margins, while the other two series were drawn. Overall, India have played 17 Tests in Sri Lanka, winning four, losing six and drawing the remaining seven. Incidentally, Sri Lanka have also played exactly 17 Tests in India, losing ten and drawing seven without a single victory. Sri Lanka have played seven series in India, losing five and drawing two.
MUSTAFIZUR ACHIEVES A FIRSTMustafizur Rahman caught everyone's attention by taking a hat-trick on ODI debut and winning the Man of the Match (MoM) award in the same game. He made his Test debut during the first Test of the series between Bangladesh and South Africa, a rain-affected game in Chittagong. The rain did not deter Mustafizur though, as he returned figures of four for 37 in the first innings and again won the MoM award. Thus, he became the first cricketer in history to win a MoM award on Test and ODI debut. There are exactly 100 players, who have won a MoM award on either Test or ODI debut. Mustafi-zur features in both lists.

AB de Villiers missed the first Test of South Africa's series against Bangladesh, but he had played 98 consecutive Tests before that. Has anyone played more consecutive Tests?

However, AB de Villiers does hold the world record for having played the most consecutive Tests since making his debut. The only player who can go past him in the near future and become the first person to play 100 consecutive Tests since making his debut is Brendon McCullum, who has currently played 94 straight Tests since his debut in 2004.
