Mark Ramprakash has been disciplined by the England and Wales Cricket Board following an incident during Surrey's Frizzell County Championship Division One match against Middlesex at Guildford recently.

Ramprakash was reported by umpires Mark Benson and Peter Hartley for a Level Two breach of the ECB's discipline code — using language or gesture that is obscene or of a serious insulting nature to another player, umpire, referee, team official or spectator.

The England player has been slapped with three penalty points, which will remain on his record for a period of 12 months. The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in this 12-month period results in an automatic suspension.
